| From what I saw last night Marvin is a very smart player. When he said something about the 2 strongest players in the house, obviously referring to Scott and Jase, it took some of the heat off of him. He made it look like they had all the power so people would target them before himself. He is another guy, along with Will, on the sidelines of this guy/girl feud. He could sneak by to the final 6 as long as he doesn't piss people off. |

Exactly my thinking right now. The ole pimp daddy got more game than I thought he did ! I was fully expecting him to nominate the two guys that he thought were his greatest competition with the ladies in an effort to get rid of as many men as he could, allowing him to strut around like the rooster in the hen house. But no, Marvin is playing the game, and, IMO, smartly.

| I like how he said something about the two biggest threats in the game ... then made Scott wait til the last to see if he'd been nominated. You know that headband was dripping sweat that day. I think it was a warning to the 2 jerks, showing they don't have total control and if he didn't agree with their assessment then he'd have put someone else up. Still don't like him, still want him gone, but enjoyed the momentary discomfort that he doled out to Scott.

New drinking game: Do a shot every time Marvin says "personal indictment" or a reasonable variation.

That's funny. Before i knew he likes Cowboys, I noticed he looks like Emmitt Smith. Wonder if that is the reason he likes cowboys ? Oh and if he says personal indictment one more time.... ![]()

The question isn't about whether he is taking heat off himself or not but it should be about (in terms of his own best interest) how to win this game! Taking heat off him DOES NOT equal winning the 500 grand, at least in his case.... you know the funny thing is he always say he's holding his cards close to himself, not letting anyone know what he's up to.... in fact his fellow housemates say the same thing about him being somewhat of a wildcard but the truth is he DOES NOT have any cards to play with! He got nothing! He, like a few other nimwits, are being played by the 4H or more specifically Jase and Scott and marvin doesn't even realizes it.... although you might think he knows about it but his action speaks otherwise. The thing he miscalcuated has to do with the simple fact that the 4H REALLY DOES HOLD ALL THE POWER IN THE HOUSE! Even though he may be right about other people are then inevitably targeting them instead of targeting himself. The thing is those same people have little to no chance of fighting the 4H for that power and therefore are really vulnerable to the 4H wrath or whatever they are throwing at the rest of the household, including marvin. Basically marvin had the ONE and ONLY chance so far into the game of possibly dethroning anyone of the 4H..... but he didn't and the more time passes the less likely any non-horsemen members of the house can put up a good fight against them... the window of opportunity shortens.... unlike past BB seasons where "the game" starts in the middle of season and anything before that was just fun and games, this season of BB5 the game started right when the alliance of the 4H was created. Mike's demise is the product of the 4H's work. The same thing goes for Lori. How many more Mikes and Loris will it take for the likes of Marvin and Holly to WAKE UP and smell the coffee? Their existence in the house is becoming nothing more than the will of the 4H- if they feel they like you, you stay..... if not, you're out. All other extremities like taking "the heat" off yourself and letting somebody else do the dirty work for you etc. etc. are irrelavant since the most power or most powerful lies within a handful of people. Like wrestling's great triple H, the 4H doesn't just play the game, THEY ARE THE GAME! The question is how many more evictions will it take for Marvin to realize that?

Although Marvin may be a potential target but I think he is on the fence like Will and has also shown himself capable in winning the HOH! ![]()

You say Marvin is sticking with the 4H but if you watched the show last night he was strategizing with some of the women. I think he did the right move by not going against the 4H yet I probably would've done that too. BTW: Love the avatar...

I may not have debated marvin's strategy specifically with you before but even before eviction last night, before veto I stood by my argument that Marvin made the wrong choice. He made a strategic error that is becoming harder to fix day by day. The question is when is yet? Next week? Next few weeks? Towards the end of the season? To tell you the truth, even Marvin himself doesn't know when! He's kissing butt to the 4H to the point of becoming blind in the game! He wasn't strategizing with the women..... even if he wanted to (which inevitably he has to to win) the women won't be giving him the time of day! He put Lori up for god sakes! And he also contributed to Karen's appointment on nominations. Tell me who in the women side (including Holly) is not pissed at him? Talk about character assassination and personal indictment, he is doing just THAT to himself!!!!! Look, the fact of the matter is.... this is not even my opinion.... but the fact of the matter is there is NO back and forth kicking eachother butt off between the 4H and girl's alliance. The dominance is clearly one sided- coming straight from Scott and Jase and their two "bitches".... from veto to HOH competitions, they hold all the power... and I will not be suprised if they continue this winning streak to the very end!!!! And I don't have a problem with that, they deserve every win with their hard work..... but what I have a problem with is the fact that Marvin HAD what little opening of window of opportunity to kick one of the 4H (preferably either Scott or Jase) out the door for good! But he didn't and what seems to me he won't. Does he really think he can still blend in the background now that everything is a bit more clear? You know the problem with marvin's strategy is that he is using a strategy of letting the others to do the dirty work for him while at the same time he is basically all alone, with no allies to back him up..... this might work in previous seasons of BB or on some other reality shows but for this year's BB5 if he wants to use that strategy most effectively, he should've allied himself with the ladies..... the fact of the matter is the 4H is a very tight nit group of narcissistic egotistical men, granted marvin himself is not any better but if he's smart enough he knows he would've more chances to play the "let everyone else to do the dirty work" game with the ladies than with the men (ie 4H) .....in fact the opposite is happening to the likes of marvin who wants to use the "let everyone else to do the dirty work" strategy, instead of marvin pullin all the strings, it's Scott and Jase who are doing exactly THAT to marvin. Marvin's nominations and subsequent veto appoinment have done the 4H alot of favor and probably will benefit Marvin in the short run..... ie as long as there is still one lady in the house, Marvin is safe from the horsemen's wrath. In the end, however, I just can't see how Marvin will get into the final four without winning vetos and HOH for himself.
