As far as the task, I was surprised that two teams went the route of entertaining Mark. If there was a subtext that he was supposed to be entertained, I didn't pick up on it. I'm glad he didn't can the ones who took toys to the hospital. I thought it was a great idea and didn't like the way it was shuffled aside as too mundane. He probably gives money to the hospital, but I'm betting that it's the players that usually visit the kids. Wouldn't that make more sense to the kids?

I have to admit that I'm sucked in by this show. I don't know why it's ever compared to the Apprentice - like night and day.

On a related note, I don't understand why so many people are down on using Jenga, it's no better or worse then the other ridiculous "tasks" reality contestants are put through -- Survivor: I can't believe someone was eliminated because their team lost the obstacle course. Early childhood Jenga-trauma maybe...
I don't have a problem with Survivor's eliminations because that's what the game is about, defeating each other in contests, feats of strength, speed and endurance, etc. Maybe I don't understand this show yet, but what bothers me is that people are eliminated arbitrarily, and Cuban has to come on and tell us "the lesson to be learned from so and so's elimination is..." If its a show about a billionaire messing with people, O.K. , but he keeps refering to how he made his money, and like some of the other posters on this thread, I don't think this show teaches us anything. For those who like the show, I say enjoy! For me, I don't think it is as well crafted a show as some of the other reality shows out there.

The whole show is simply a massive ego stroke for a deeply disturbed megalomaniac. The only good thing that can come of this is if he finally gets the psychological help he so desperately needs. For that reason, and that reason alone, I will continue watching.

I don't know where else to post this, but is this week's Benefactor show going to be repeated? I missed the show on Monday because they were airing Monday Night Football, and I desperately want to see the second episode. I caught the first episode and loved it! ~~ Mark Cuban completely cracks me up!!

I live in Arizona and get pre-empted by football, too, which is okay for me. But, they do broadcast the show here at midnight on Monday nights. I'm a nightingale, not a lark, so late night works for me.

I have watched two episodes, but probably won't watch anymore. The big difference between 'Apprentice' and 'Benefactor' was that one was a solid show idea, that they attached a famous person to (Trump). The other is a famous person (Cuban), that they attached a show to. So once you get over the novelty of seeing this famous person interact with the contestants, it boils down to the 'game'. Benefactor sorely lacks in this regard. If Cuban was some magnetic personality, he might overcome the shows flaws ... but he isn't. He sort of reminds me of those two guys on that OTHER Burnett show ... Casino.

Plus, where is the trumpet fanfare (that Donald gets) for Mark Cuban's entrance?
