No it's not the same thing, this is what he just said:

When you are given the challenge of "Make people of Dallas Smile". Whoever does the best job stays, who ever doesnt , goes. That, to me, is far more difficult because there are thousands of ways to approach it and you have to be completely original. What the winners came up with was unique and hilarious.

As far as the Apprentice. Great show, but they all had to do the same thing, and they did it as a team only. When you are told to sell lemonade, thats a closed end challenge. When you are told to manage an event, or a restaurant for a night, thats task driven, not much of an intellectual challenge. Its not necessarily easy, but you have a good idea what you need to do, and you are limited by the context of a restaurant, charity event, etc. At least IMHO

I have to say I'm not too excited about this show. In the same way that Trump's show turned out to be a big commercial for Trump's water, casino, golf course, etc., this show sounds like a 1 million dollar publicity stunt for Cuban to get more face time on TV. I'll check out the first episode and I hope I'm wrong but honestly what's new about a show where they give you a lot of money to do tasks or "stunts" that probably end up making you look silly or even stupid. At least on a show like Fear Factor you are given the rules of how to win or lose so that contestants and viewers aren't going to feel cheated in the end by who the winner is.

To me it sounded like it would be more what I expected the Apprentice to be. I think the idea of the open-ended challenges is intriguing. Especially at first the Apprentice turned into the girls flipping their skirts to win challenges.

I'm glad I wandered in this forum, I was going to give this show a pass since I was disappointed by the Apprentice. I'm glad you took the time to explain it in depth, MC!
