Am I the only one bothered by Emily making one sylable words into two sylable words. Isn't she just a little too old to be doing that? It may tolerable with a tween, but a grown woman? Every episode is, cool -ah, no-ah, hi-ah, yes-ah, and on and on. Maybe it's just a pet peeve of mine..................

I've noticed it too, a lot. And I agree with you. Reminds me of the teen moms on their show, between that and using the like word every second. I scream at the TV!

Oh sorry! I was talking before TRC ( they go from very early to the wee hours in the morning) ) I guess they have to share all the other hours on group dates and such. I saw on you tube deleted scenes and other scenes we have see all put together, and if you think Arie has chemistry with Emily You need to see her and Jef. I was quite surprised at the obvious connection( well obvious now I have seen this)

I think the final rose ceremony is July 16.

Many southern dialects add syllables to words. Similar to the Boston dialect of no "r's" , or is that Long Island? We must accept differences in English language dialects and enjoy our diversity in this country.

Rodale: This is not a dialect issue. It is a "Valley Speak Teenage" issue. Has nothing to do with accepting and enjoying diversity.................

Actually, I'm from the South and I was thinking about this last night. I rewatched the last episode and recognized the familiarity of adding extra syllables to words. We also sometimes exclude syllables or words or even the final 'g' as in 'fixin to'.

Ilja: I agree about the Southern dialect. My DSIL is from Oklahoma and I love to listen to his family speak. I sounds so warm and friendly. The second sylable issue I'm talking about is very prevalent across the US, mostly with teenagers. Here in SoCal it's nuts. My daughter is a young attorney, and I catch her doing it all the time with the word No, she prounounces it Noah. I brought it to her attention and she was horrified that she does that. Just silly I know, though it still doesn't sound right on an adult.
