True, but I think since they're financially supporting Emily and their grandchild to a great degree, and Emily is more than willing to take their money and a free home supplied by them, that just might buy them the right to express their opinion, exert their influence, and have a say in decisions that affect their grandchild more so than if they were not providing those things. And when someone allows themselves to be financially dependent on other people for, well, just about everything they need and want in life, that someone sort of has an obligation to listen and even comply. Either you're an independent person or you're not. I don't think anyone can have it both ways. Most parents, grandparents, etc., would not take too kindly to paying an adult dependent's living expenses but having nothing to say about what they do, especially when it affects their grandchild.
But see, that is all assumption. We have no idea how much money the Hendrick's give Emily, if any at all. It could be that they are doing nothing for Emily directly, but have a trust fund set up for Ricki, in which Emily can use the money for basic needs. She could have gotten a big chunk of money from Rick's life insurance policy, and have it all invested wisely. Her parents are wealthy as well, so maybe they are the one's helping Emily foot the bill. Her mother is clearly very supportive, as we've seen her on the show. They can certainly express an opinion, but that's all it is, an opinion, which makes them neither right nor wrong. And as I've stated above, I have heard that they are supportive of Emily, so who's to say which story we are hearing is the real one?

I just found an amazing link to a youtube video that shows a montage of Emily and Ricki through pictures. You can clearly see the love between these two. I sure hope she finds love again, whether it be through this show or not.

This story has been out for awhile So, to refute it, they all had their picture taken together( minus the F1) and said we are all fine.I am sure they know Emily pretty well, and while they might not agree( my in laws never agree with me) with all she does.
I am sure they let he lead her own life

If I was Ricki's grandparent I would be upset with Emily doing this show once, much less twice. It has nothing to do with money or support or anything owed to anyone. Bachelor Nation is a cesspool and not a fit place for any child. I would let my opinion be known, but yeah Emily as the mom gets to make the calls. Then the grandparents get to help clean up the mess when the kid is all messed up because mom's new 'special friend' doesn't come around any more and all the extra people aren't around any more telling her how very special she is. In my opinion Emily's screwing up big time. Ricki has been shown prominently on every episode except the last one all season. Every show's opening sequence, there's Emily holding Ricki with 'The Bachelorette' banner across them. Ricki has been shown way more than any other child on this show ever was. That's the one piece of this dog and pony show that isn't funny.
If Emily is looking for a romantic partner, she should look elsewhere.
If Emily is looking for a career boost (or even a career) she should look elsewhere.
If Emily wants to play mom of the year, she should get her kid the heck out of reality TV.
Kids shouldn't be allowed anywhere near this show.

This isn’t the Sound of freaking Music we’re watching.......sdl
Yes, I agree with you there.I guess though, this could on forever .Should she or shouldn't she bring Ricki along. I feel no, others dont seem to mind. I guess I am passed all that now. I had my say from the start.Ultimately she is the mother, she has to say what is best for her child. This show in particular, given how sleazy MF is,I wouldn't like my child near it. There are other shows, Dance Moms for example and we see alot more of them than we have Ricki.

Oh in a few weeks and a few rounds of talk shows it will all be over for the most part. If her showmance isn't a success we might see her again somewhere but don't think she has what it takes to be a star. Maybe her and Ricki will go back to being normal whatever that is for them again and we can go onto the next bach/ette show.
You don't have to attend every argument you are invited to.
Ricki is Rick Hendricks' family, Emily isn't. Rick Hendricks could support Emily and Ricki until Ricki turns 22, and he could give Ricki a trust fund when she's 35... but he could also choose to stop giving Emily financial support when Ricki turns 22. Emily might want to decide for herself how she runs her life and raises Ricki. If Emily has a husband who earns a good living, and if she has a career in the spotlight, she might not need the Hendricks' money anymore.
