They've "used" her for good ratings and it's mean and pathetic. I think Ashley fell too hard, too fast for old Bently but I'm sure I was just like that at her age. He's a very smooth guy. But it's pitiful what TPTB have done at Ashley's expense. If they do bring Bently back, I hope we see him (like the others in the past) up on a balcony, crying and then I hope he throws himself over the wall. What a slimeball.
Regarding the comments in bold, I found myself thinking back to myself when I was in my twenties. It was hard to see her fall for his lines, but I have been there. I don't even find Bentley particularly attractive, but it's the charm and the sweet talk that comes out of the mouths of these guys. Ashley was practically begging for reassurance and Bentley used it to his advantage.

I will never understand why Bentley would pull this on national tv. If he was there to promote his business, I don't think this is the way to go about it. Something like this can backfire big time, if you go too far. Bentley may come to regret it.

I have a question. Do you think the rose ceremony was held later that night after JP's date or the following night ? He didn't get to her place until it was dark outside which would have been after 7:30. It would have been a very short date if she had to get changed, put all the makeup on and go back to the mansion for the ceremony. That's why I was wondering.

Not the same night. She said in her blog that she fell asleep with him there. I doubt she would've done that, then gotten up and dressed for the rose ceremony.

What really upset me the most about the roast is the horrible message it sends to women, esp. young women, who are often very insecure about their bodies.
No wonder why so many women get oversized implants.
Ashley, to me, is a pretty confident women, overall. If she weren't she would have had implants years ago.

I'm not buying that Ashley is insecure I think she's actually a lot more secure than most.
Glad that Bentley is gone. Couldn't stand the guy. He's a cra*py actor.

My goodness, leave for a week and everything falls apart. Where to begin? I guess I'll start with your comment, Noreality.

That roast had to be worst idea ever for a date on this show. Like somebody said below, normally a roast is done by people who have known the celebrity for years, and have real love and affection for them. For Pete's sake, these men barely know Ashley. What the heck were they supposed to say?? And yes, even given how uncomfortable they were, I was really upset about all the comments about her breasts. Guys, you did the male gender no favors this week.... (And I have to say, I don't understand why the guys were implying that Ashley was not sexy for having small breasts. Have they never watched SYTYCD? I think those dancers are very sexy.)

William, oh William, I loved you so much after last week. What happened? I'm really glad you were remorseful, but running away? Darling, you would have made a better impression on Ashley if you had run after her and thrown yourself at her feet begging for mercy. You are SO lucky that she gave you another chance.

Ok, at first I had real sympathy for Ashley after the roast. But then I got to thinking, and changed my mind. Good grief, she had to know that many of the guys were expecting at least Chantal, depending on when they got picked for this show. So what? I would make sure that they forgot all about Chantal/Emily and ended being glad it was ME. I would have been more ticked off at the comments about my physical attributes. At the very least, I wouldn't have been moping and crying about it. I would have sat the guys down and had an honest conversation about it.

Bentley...OMG. I had an ex-BF like him. Always kissing and hugging and holding, always filling my head with thoughts of marriage. Funny how those thoughts never materialized into anything concrete. And funny how I found out he had another GF, the phony jerk. So I can understand why Ashley might have fallen for him and his lies. I really wish that she would get over him, though, and move on to the great guys who are left.

And sisters, I couldn't agree more with the comments about emotional abuse. If I were Ashley looking back now, I would be furious at how the producers treated me. It's almost pornographic. And for what, ratings? Excuse me? There was nothing dramatic about J-bag's exit. When I watched it on my DVR, I actually started to fall asleep during that scene. When Ali confronted Justin and literally had him running away from her, with the other guys right behind wanting to beat the crap out of him, now THAT was dramatic. I would far rather have seen something like that happen between Ashley and Pinto. Sorry, that's an insult to Pintos. What's a better car analogy?

Quick notes about the other dates:

Never liked flash mobs. I think they're silly. But hey, I admired Ben C. for being so good-natured about it. And yet another band I've never heard of. I wonder if sometimes these contestants just fake it when they're presented with a singer. On-camera they say, I'm so glad they're here! I love them! Really? I can't believe it!" However, they're actually thinking, "I have absolutely no clue who this person singing is, but I can't make a fool of myself on national TV by admitting it."

Poor JP. Although I must admit that I was a little irritated by his voiceover, "We'll talk a little about Bentley, and then move on." (sigh) Typical guy. I'm so glad he was so patient when the date didn't go according to his plan. I also thought it was cute, them snuggling in their jammies. I love doing that with hubby.
Maggie: "While she takes care of the men with the guns, why don't you sit down and I'll make you a nice, hot cup of tea?"
