I think Kiptyn was set to win but he confesses something that totally catches Gillian off guard. She wasn't ging to pick Ed, but now thinks she might have to because of what is revealed.. However, the lack of passion with Ed doesn't convince her to pick him. In the end, Gillian really doesn't end up with either, except maybe on tv for the final show because of contractual obligations. JMO
