Maybe it means he has roommates. And maybe it means his roommated don't want to (a) get involved in this nonsense, or(b) be forced to leave their home when the producers of this nonsense send a camera crew in to pry.

Personally, if I had roommate who was silly enough to go on this show, there is no way I would sign any sort of waiver allowing a horde of strangers to tromp through my home with the intent of showing it to the rest of the world. And I don't find that odd at all.

ETA: To clarify, I have no idea if he has (a) roommate(s) at all. I'm just conjecturing a reasonable explanation for keeping a camera crew out of his home.

We knew:
1. She is in it for a husband.
2. THIS IS REAL!!!!
3. Brad treated her bad.
4. The men didn't show enough attention to her, hence the hissy fit at the outhouse.
