I don't have a problem with his gift, an oyster farmer giving a pearl necklace makes sense to me

Kind of like the chef cooking something for her or the science teacher giving her a crystal. It was an expression of who they are.

um, except that he wouldn't have found a pearl necklace in an oyster. He might have found a pearl, but having it mounted on a chain would cost money, and giving someone jewerly and asking them to wear it shows dominion that is inappropriate in a "dating 25 people" context. Maybe it's just my own bad dating history that I don't like being shackled with someone's calling card that I'm not serious about. He asked her to put it on, and she obliged, but did you notice that she had taken it off prior to the final rose ceremony. I certainly noticed.

Yes, I noticed too. DeAnna wasn't wearing the necklace for the rose ceremony. I thought that was a bad sign for Luke.

They do look a little alike. Maybe she got them mixed up? Luke's sweetness over Twilley's smarminess any day!

I live in SC now, too! And I must say I was *pleased* to find 1 of the 3 SC bachelors I would want to spend more than 5 minutes with...

And while I was sad to see him not get picked [c'mon -- the 1st night don't you think it's hard to even find 15 people you want to keep dating?? I could EASILY have picked a number of guys she kept to let go instead, without even taking a breath...!] --
I truly thought he had an admirably classy exit. I believed he really wants the best for her. It made me like him even more!
BTW, I totally disagree w/ the premise that his pearl was meant to lay 'ownership' on her --although I've totally met those kind of guys before, too! yuk yuk yuk Get away! And in general I usually *hate* the ones that give the 'look at me, look at me!!!!' gifts on the meet and greet, anyway, give me a break --
but I truly only saw thoughtfulness behind his gift.
I'm willing to bet that even if she offered to give it back after the RC [and I didn't see her try...] -- he wouldn't have taken it back anyway. I truly think he wanted her to have it.
If I were single, I'd totally be calling him up and asking him out! hmm, his last name will probably be listed soon [if not already] - Maybe I'll send him a fan letter anyway!

Well, he was a little better looking and not as creepy as I thought. But he's still creepy. I did think the necklace was sweet. I guess she didn't keep it because when she was going through the photos she didn't have it on...
