| Re: Bachelorette 4 Media thread I'm a Jesse fan but I'm bummed. I miss his hat and shades. His hair looked good at the FRC-somewhere in between. But does anyone else pick up on the put downs by Deanna? IMO I think it's a business deal on both parts, but Jesse is more sincere. Stay true dude! And the 'hoooonnnnneeeeeyyyyyy', hooker heels, micro minis and huge earrings have got to go. Put on a pair of jeans and converse high tops girl. Stay true Jesse! |

Well, from the March hometown article, Jesse himself seemed to make it plain that he saw the show as one more step -- a big one -- in his plan to leverage snowboarding into endorsements into exposure and more endorsements that could lead to future business contacts and deals, etc, that he's been doing for a while now, realizing that his body won't hold out as a full-time athlete forever. Saying that "the gigs are just getting bigger and bigger," talking about one endorsement deal that earns him money every time he gets national exposure in some media, and saying that, following the show, "the next six months" are going to be crazy, talking about the current show back in March all demonstrate that he has a master plan into which The Bachelorette (and staying on it as long as possible) fit just fine, no matter who first suggested it to him, if you ask me. At the same time, even if you wanted to do the show, it would not have been a good negotiating stance (or good pr) to admit that you wanted to do it. Seems to me he was just being smart a smart negotiator because telling them that he didn't want to do it, making them coax him into it, would clearly be the only way to get them to make concessions to you and throw in things to sweeten the pot. Plus, it makes you the cool, playing-hard-to-get dude, and he's not the only guy who's gone on the show with that image. Much more attractive than saying -- Yeah, I jumped at the chance! I think. Anybody with a business plan like Jesse apparently has would have done the same, I'm sure. That said, I don't see why coming on the show for business reasons precludes becoming attracted to the bachelorette. Trista kind of came on for business reasons too, I think, and look what happened with her. Andrew, Kelly Jo, and many others also had exposure in mind but seemed to fall for people also. I don't know whether he has actually fallen for her or not, but I don't think it's at all out of the question, even though I'm dead certain that he came on the show as part of his long-range business plan. | |

| Re: Bachelorette 4 Media thread De's dad is very scary. Any suitor would be scared away. Seriously "I have a son and a nephew who is 6 foot 5 and we will hunt you down" (said with no apparent humor, which would be funny if there was humor involved). Maybe it's just in the editting, but De's father was excruciatingly intimidating to Jesse. He (De's father) is a royal A-hole (poor De--what was it like to be raised by such a jerk, and poor Jesse). Good for De that she went with her heart in spite of her A-hole father. I just feel for Jesse. He's real. |

| Re: Bachelorette 4 Media thread He totally totally side-stepped THE question but his answer was the right thing to say. I loved the interviewer - loved that he told Jason he wanted him to come in 2nd 3-4 weeks ago and perhaps, this is the best thing for him. I'm hopeful Jason sees that in time, he will. "Take every available oppotunity, man, you're living every guys dream, this golden opportunity!" And this "The world is at your fingertips, just snap your fingers dude" "Dominate the landscape here man!" Personally, I like it when guys just tell it like it is and they have a bad vibe about D. He'll tell Jason about it next time they get together. Cool guys - they have his best interest at heart. What a great interview! Jason was super relaxed there too! |
