How can you possibly build any kind of lasting relationship with anyone on this kind of foundation??? Makes you wonder how the true essence of the show can be lasting love when all is built on such superficiality.
Bingo! That's why the De/Graham connection was more about chemistry than substance.

I knew that it hurt at the moment, but that everything was going to be for the best. She and I both knew it. It was more mutual than you will ever see.

I'd love to know exactly what he meant by that. I hate cryptic messages!!

I think the key sentence is: I knew that it hurt at the moment, but that everything was going to be for the best. She and I both knew it.

I take that to mean that both he and DeAnna knew that while it hurt at that moment, both of them knew that it was the right thing to do. In another interview I read (I think from the ABC medianet conference call) he said that he wasn't sure he would have accepted a rose even if DeAnna had offered. He also said that he told her that when they were on the bench outside. They weren’t made to be forever. They wanted & needed different things. Graham isn’t the right man for DeAnna & DeAnna isn’t the right woman for Graham. Recognising that doesn’t mean that is doesn’t hurt.

People come into our lives for a reason - how many times have we heard DeAnna say that. Graham was the guy DeAnna always went for and yet here she is back with the same type of guy that she knows isn't right for her. She needed to be in this setting, (with all four of these men to learn what she needed to about herself), especially, at this time with Graham to show her that she has grown and changed and as much as that hurt & as scary as that is, she had to let go of the familiar in order to really take a risk and truly find what she is looking for - a relationship that works for all the right reasons

Graham, being here with DeAnna has learnt that he needs to open up and also that he is ready to do that, but he has to be with the right woman. And DeAnna has to be with the right man.

From NY Magazine Interview
Did you ever talk about her life and her job?
You know, she and I talked about … mostly how I felt about her. [Laughs] I’m sure we talked about music sometimes. But, no, the time that you are given it’s pretty much revolving around the concept of the show and the relationship and where you are in the process and how you’re dealing with that. We didn’t talk day-to-day details too much, which is obviously kind of disturbing if you’re going to marry someone in that short period of time.
That?!?! right there is what makes the relationship developing between Jason & DeAnna different from all the others. They have spent time talking about day-to-day details. They have spent time talking about the life changing experiences they have gone through, the experiences that brought them to this point, that have helped define them. Again, how many times have we heard DeAnna say "everything happens for a reason" - they need to see if they believe they have same reason.

Jasons’ world was changed by the birth of his son. DeAnnas’ world was changed by the death of her mother.

Who would have thought? Certainly not DeAnna - I think her body language spoke before her heart did - but once she had both in sync

I don’t know, but I find something truly beautiful in that …

I think many of us have been there - done this as well. Sometimes it takes great courage to walk thru that forest - to see the real trees that are there.

What a great post! Thanks for your insight. My comment was made before I read Graham's abcmedianet transcript and ITA with your entire post, scratch what I said. I loved how you pulled it all together!

Great post and thanks for weaving it all together. I am amazed at Graham's candor in his interviews this early in the process. Those eyeopeners usually come out after the show concludes. I wouldn't say he's throwing her under the bus but he is getting some zingers in there.

Wow....Brilliant post!!!!! Just very eloquent and insightful! "Everything happens for a reason!" DeAnna had to endure the B.ad's and Grayham's of the world to be able to then finally recognize, experience, enjoy and relish what Jason presented to her, and for them to share....an endearing love, passion, fun, security, safety, comfort, joy, happiness, family, protection......and sheer bliss!!!! Thanks

Re: Bachelorette 4 Media thread

I find it totally weird that she never talks about what she does for a living.
She never does. She was just pretty content to talk about her feelings — 120 percent of the time.

Ouch! So Graham has a sense of humor though. He was just not that into her. He seems really detached to me, like he is just not that into anyone. The pics with Amanda are cute, but he isn't looking at her or that into having his arm around her. Fascinating interview. Thanks for posting!

I think the casual viewer just sees that De sent him home because of what she felt he couldn't give her. With that statement he's probably trying to let the world know that she did not kick him to the curb, but that it was mutual.

It’s interesting. There’s quite a bit of turnover
Quite a bit of turnover? Wow. I am surprised that any man would admit so publicly to that. He's basically calling himself a player. I guess it goes with what his mother revealed though...

Unless I am totally not getting his meaning here.

I don't think Graham is a "player"! Unless you are talking about a basketball player!

You're probably right. I was quick to grapple onto a word that explained his "high turnover".

But a "high turnover" definitely indicates something. I don't believe for a second that he'd have that much trouble finding a steady, or something that lasts longer than 4 weeks - if there wasn't something off. What that is is anyone's guess [unless I believe his edit - the reasons then are clearly evident].

Wow. High Turnover. Still find it hard to believe that anyone would admit that publicly.
