I still have to wait 4 hours to watch the show! I can't wait to see DeAnna's reaction. I will probably cry right along w/her!! Your feelings on DeAnna are the same as mine -- I think she is just wonderful and will be an awesome bachelorette!! ![]()

| Re: Bachelorette 4 - DeAnna I think we should sincerely give Deanna a chance. All of us looked so forward to Jen's season because she was so likeable in Andrew's season and she turned out SOOOOO aweful. Boring and the capital B is intentional. At least with Deanna, we won't have boring. I agree that she came across as harsh and bossy on the show, but I think that may work in her favor on Bachette because it means she won't get railroaded into to doing things like Meredith did (we all remember Mer telling Matt she'd accept his proposal). I say give her a chance, she may surprise you. |

I don't think they gave her advance warning. Unless it was to say that she was among the ones being considered. So it was still a surprise. They knew from her answers on myspace that she definitely would accept being the Bachelorette, so there was no fear in her saying no and they got an honest surprise reaction out of her.

I guess it goes to show you that no matter who is going to be the bachelorette that it isn't going to make everybody happy. For those that are not happy w/her being the bachelorette, maybe just try to go into it w/an open mind and give it a try? Fleiss edited her to be a certain way on the bachelor -- I am sure she will be edited in a completely different way in the bachelorette show. If you don't like what you see you can always turn the show off. I believe she at the very least deserves a chance at this! Thanks!![]()

| Re: Bachelorette 4 - DeAnna Well, everyone wants to want to be treated nicely, and Deanna probably didn't think about the implications of her statement regarding wanting her dinner to be paid for. However, the statement about not paying is outdated and not flattering to her, IMO. Why should the man pay? My husband and I were a team from the start, and he didn't have a dime (we were University students). I fell in love with the person, and saw his potential, etc. He bought me the best ring he could, and I loved it. Twenty one years later, he can afford much better, but I wouldn't part with that ring for the world. | |

| Re: Bachelorette 4 - DeAnna I think the fact that DeAnna says things that could have been worded in a better way makes her more REAL!! Would you prefer someone who always waits a minute to answer a question just to make sure they say what everybody wants to hear, even if it's not exactly what they're thinking? I don't for sure... Maybe that's because I also tend to speak my mind freely (and sometimes without thinking first)... she didn't insult anybody, she didn't lie to anybody, she just said that she likes a gentleman who will not let her pay for dinner (hey, that doesn't mean she can't surprise him with taking him out for dinner in return or surprising him with something else). So what's the problem??? I guess it's that DeAnna simply can't do it right for some people, no matter what she says and how she says it, she'll be torn to pieces, just like she was during the Bachelor...

| Re: Bachelorette 4 - DeAnna I do not buy that she's not as mean and hateful as portrayed on the last Bachelor. Those were her true colors, not the ones she's polished up for her MySpace page. No way will I wish anything but a total trainwreck on that mean little biatch!! I think Fleiss has set up the potential for a Jen2. I'll only watch to laugh at her hopefully becoming the most hated Bachelorette ever!! |

| Re: Bachelorette 4 - DeAnna Anyone on here ever read the 'Mars and Venus on a Date' book? What Deanna said is in line with what is espoused in the book. That men want to give to women they want and when women give too much or give 'back' or pay, it takes the man's interest away from the woman and onto himself, it makes a man self centered and selfish. A man giving to a woman, brings out the best that is in the soul of a man. I can certainly agree with this view as it has borne out in my life. I'm certainly in the seat titled 'women who give too much' and have seen the effects of it in my own life. Before you jump on me and pound me out, please read the book first. I'm still digesting it as a modern day book with interesting insights. |
