Just based on what I read here on these boards I don't think it was an interview. I think Love_Me posted about watching the episodes with Ali's commentary on the ABC site? I haven't done that myself but apparently Ali said (or typed?) that CL is a wicked good guy and it breaks her heart that she put him in that position by asking him the question about whether his parents are still together. I don't know if there's an interview out there. But I'm sure Ali will address it in her blog after whichever episode CL tells her and she'll talk about it in later interviews after that episode airs.

I don't think CH was doing anything but stirring the pot for drama because to be honest I don't think there's much suspense about Ali would react to CL's story. Of course she'll be moved and of course she'll understand the decision.

    Re: Editing Analysis

Ali's notice of Chris L skipping over the family situation at the Meet and Greet was addressed in her sidebar chat on an episode run at the abc site for The Bachelorette, not in an interview. It was good, though, to read her remarks. I haven't watched week 2 with her comments to discover her reactions to Frank, etc., but she pretty much follows the show with in the moment type comments, that is, no future spoilers.

For me, the edit for the front runners seems to be setting up their story lines. We had Frank with his over the top enthusiasm soon to be tested; Roberto with a growing attraction to more than her looks; Chris with a crush that could grow to love; Kirk wanting to make an impression that could stick.

It's too early to see what their road blocks or peaks and valleys might actually be, but I think the initial phases of the story lines have been set out.

could anyone guide me to the post with Ali's interview where she discusses Chris's mom? or any general idea as to where it is? thanks in advance!

I suspect Chris is going to be a fan favorite because they are going to present his story in such a heart-rendering way and because they are going to edit him so positively. I gave the example a while back that we didn't see the screencap where he is virtually right in Craig M's face screaming at him. We see Chris's mouth open, and he has a look of outrage on his face which is not pleasant, kind, gentle, loving and/or tender.

I know that "look", btw, and I am not particularly condemning Chris. I have seen the coaches at the Middle School do the same thing when necessary in handling particularly difficult adolescent boys, and I don't even sub now (taught for years) in a really difficult area like NYC (although nowhere is a piece of cake in our society anymore).
Craig M didn't seem to dislike CL for getting in his face. He said that Jesse, Roberto and CL were guys that were there for the right reasons. He also admitted that he wished he didn't act the way he did towards Jesse and that's when that SC of CL was taken. If the average viewer who doesn't read/listen to media interviews were to see that photo without any background it would jade CL's character. (IMO)

I wrote Jesse...maybe it was Kirk, can't exactly remember and I'm too lazy today to go look it up...sorry.

I agree with a lot of this with 1 caveat. Didn't we get a preview voiceover of CL hedging about whether he could propose if he doesn't know Ali's ready to fall in love with him? If Ali/the producers want a proposal at the end that's a Reidish sign for CL.

Sorry, I edited out most of the post because I just wanted to address this part.

The reason Jill was questioning Reid was because she was not sure he was ready to commit to her and subsequently propose. (I think she had the same issue with Kip.) I think this stemmed from a gut feeling on her part that they really weren't that into her. In Ali's case, it is not a question of CL not being into her and not being able to commit and therefore propose...at least from what we have been shown thus far. I think the problem is his questioning if she is really into him after all the drama with Frank and his own doubts if he is in fact her true F1.

We all know how the producers like to mess with their heads on this show. After a couple of months in isolation and the handlers whispering little nuggets at him to get him thinking and questioning his own judgement... not to mention hearing other guys talking about their dates ... even watching the shooting of Kirk's segment of the BNL's video ... CL is probably on his last nerve ... questioning everthing and feeling very vulnerable.

I don't think he would have a problem with proposing if only he knew she felt like she was "melting" as much as he was.

    I agree with this.
The first 2 ep: I bet CL felt like what am I doing here, I'm here for Ali, but I'm one of the older ones here, I haven't gotten a date, haven't gotten much 1:1 time. She has gone on exciting dates with the younger guys.
Personally, I think once he has the 1:1 in NY that he is going to be calmer.
    IMO

Just because I want to cheer myself up, I would say that this looks good for Chris. She made a quick decision about Roberto because she gave him the FIR. The "give yourself more time" SL suggests Chris, who only gets the fourth date and has said he will "bide his time."

The problem with Roberto, as others have said, is there isn't much potential for a story arc. He had her at hello and is a cool customer. Maybe they will just rely on the Frank drama for the SL, I don't know. But Ali said "surprise you"......and what would be surprising about her choosing Roberto? If their date goes as well next week as it appears it will, there is no conflict.

I think (or hope) things will change up a lot as we progress to the HTDs.

this is very much the same as Trista choosing Ryan over Charlie - she said that she thought it was going to be Charlie when he stepped out of the limo - but she also had her eye on Ryan and in the end she ended up falling in love with Ryan - so in that respect if Ali chooses Chris (slow and steady) over Robert O (hot out of the limo) we have a parallel to Trista's season.

that's the problem though too many parallels to several seasons......
