I had posted this in another thread - it's more approprate here.

I'm wondering why TPTB have been so offhanded with Roberto's personal appeal in his edit - CL and even Kirk's edits have really so far been more endearing.
If TPTB were vying for all the options for TB wouldn't they work harder to give all the guys a very endearing personal edit? I find R's edit very detached/aloof - for the most part he's the hot and sexy, suave latino man playing all his cards right. I would have thought he's just a player had I not looked closer for clues about his feelings...

I don't know somethings not adding up for me - if TPTB def knew that R was also in the running for TB from the very beginning they would have made him a much more endrearing bachelor with a better sympathetic edit given they are not guaranteed the guy they ask with automatically accept i.e. CL --so I don't buy that TPTB knew R was a candidate for TB right after filming wrapped so that leaves the option that they broke up up much later -- this contradicts with the tweet about Ali being back in SF and jogging the day after FRC.

Maybe Ali is right about the FD night together to talk about everything was indeed very crucial and an arragement was made between A & R which precluded that he needed a TB edit since he was not edited as TB. This could include a default arrangement or deal of some sort between A, F1 and TPTB

And since this is the editing thread, what I can't wrap my head around is the purpose of the inserted rainbow in next week's episode.

As much as I am aware of Fleiss' reputation, given the significance of the rainbow to Chris, I can't understand the thinking here. To me, that is way more than cruel. Even if he is in negotiations to be the next Bachelor, I still don't get it.

Will someone enlighten me?

Does anyone have a link to Jesse C's blog about this week's episode? The reason I'm asking is because suddenly I'm remembering something Jesse C posted about it. At least I think it was him. I thought he said he thought it was very significant that in this week's episode, Ali while getting her hair done hesitated when asked about if the guy for her was on that show. I guess this would've been right before she talked about the 4 guys. He said that if she was hesitating then there was a good chance the real answer was no, no matter what she said.

I didn't read his blog, but I caught that on the episode. I also caught the trickery. Here's my post from the 6/14 discussion thread:

I'm coming in to this conversation a day late, so I apologize if this has been addressed. The edit made it APPEAR that she said Chris is fun to be around. Notice that she is having her makeup applied when we SEE her say "smitten" about Roberto and "sweet" about Chris. We see her in the same position starting to talk about Chris, but then there is a sudden cut and her hair is all up and being worked on. We have no idea who she was talking about as far as the "fun to be around." THEN, we're back to the original scene with the statement that the guy is "here." I 'd like to know/SEE what she said about Chris. This edit sucks,

Agreed why even bother editing a rainbow in if Chris is not the F1 knowing what it means to Chris and his family. Very very very cruel

Oh, they are playing on people's emotions with the rainbow. We heard the story about CL and his mom and so they thought they hit a pot of gold and can edit in a rainbow to throw us off. Why would they put in a rainbow if she doesn't pick CL? Well, it's because he's MF and he's evil. Why I keep coming back to watch this show with how horrible they treat people, i have no idea.

This is probably the one thing that bothers me the most. Although, I shouldn't be surprised.

this season has been riddled with subliminal messaging - all the VO's placed with SCs that point to Chris being F1 were all over the place - that always made me go hmmmm, but with Roberta getting the chemistry edit, the FIR and being on the ABC Bachelorette homepage had me convinced she was choosing Chris.

I suggest everyone brace themselves for additional editing to make Chris look like F1.

I agree. I expect the edit to continue to point towards CL to really shock people in the end. Roberto is getting more of the physical edit usually reserved for F2 so this is a way to surprise people as well. The rainbow is just kore MF manipulation but especially icky given how CL feels about their significance.

I know alot of you are now saying Ali had no chemistry with CL. I have to say, who says, You're wicked HOT if there's no spark there? Or say "You're wicked hot" to a friend? I don't. And did you see the way Ali stumbles when she first met CL and laughing in a goofy way? Come on, people.

Even though I did quite like their 1-1 date I think she may have had the best chemistry with him the very first night, or so it seemed.
