Ok, Cash, now look at what good sense, though, that order of filming makes. NYC and Mass. are right there together. After filming those two, they came straight down the coast to Florida and filmed Vienna. They then flew across the country up to Oregon, filmed Tenley and down to L.A. All of the flying and filming is very logical and cost effective.

Now look at what we are surmising they are doing this season. They come into New Jersey in the Northeast, but instead of filming the date in Mass. (pretty close), they fly all the way down the coast almost to the bottom of the U.S. to Tampa to film. Then they fly all the way back up to the North east to Mass., over to Wisc. and then down to Mississippi.

Am I the only one that this doesn't make logical sense to?
Take my advice. I am not using it.

Do you think they would film Tampa first and then Boston IF they wanted to be in Boston this weekend for pre- Boston Marathon activities? Maybe there was something specific they wanted to film in Boston this weekend? You guys understand the producer's thinking much better than me.

Also, I thought the Mississippi HTD was pretty much ruled out. Am I wrong?

I agree that there may be specific events occuring in one hometown or another which could be seen as more interesting to include and thus affect the schedule. Also, family schedules could possibly be taken into consideration. Considering all the places they have been this time, I don't think cost is their number one consideration. JMO.

Bloomers, it makes sense You're suggesting that, perhaps, this season, the filming order may be Ali's F4 ordering rather than the most cost-effective travel itinerary. That, perhaps, the filming order will be the edited order, rather than what seems to be the habit of filming in geographical order and then manipulating order in the editing room. It could be.

Editing might give us a run for our money this season, but this information should help us, if we can track the order and later juxtapose it against the edited order.

The jumbled order could be the result of what others wrote, i.e that production wants to capture certain events if possible and stay on schedule.

They sure pulled out all the stops for Ali to have a memorable experience. Jake got nuthin'

Having lived in MA for most of my life, I'm not sure what pre Marathon activities would be so special, unless one was a runner.

I really don't think they look at specific happenings in the hometowns. Really Ali will be taken to some private spot which meant something special to the individual guy and then head to his parent's home for a meal.

I am not sure where they New Jersey connection came into play here - but Boston would be a central hub - easy jumping off place for alot of New England destinations - not just Western Ma where Ali is from - or Worcester where she went to college - but it could also be the hub for southern Maine- New Hampshire - Vermont and Rhode Island as well - gotta keep all options open here about this info regarding her landing in Boston............

The LaCrosse Player was Chris Riley.

That is the most cost effective in a bad economy. Is that what they are doing? If not, why? !
I posted this a few times over in the Sleuther thread, but direct flights from Lisbon to the US ONLY go in to Newark. Even if they were heading to other cities, the connections are in Newark. (Meaning, flights to JFK, Atlanta, etc. have to stop in Newark before they fly to their final destination.)

Flights into Boston from Lisbon connected in Dublin, so depending on when she flew out of Lisbon, the Dublin airport might've been closed due to the volcanic ash. SO, she would've had to land in Newark.

My guess is that Tampa was always meant to be the 1st HTD and they had to connect in Newark to get there. I don't believe Newark plays into the HTD's at all.

ETA: Totally unrelated to Bloomers' post but if Ali was heading home to Williamstown, she probably would've flown in to Albany and NOT Boston -- Albany is only an hour away from there while Boston is much longer.
