Making the final choice was not hard. I knew what I had to do. I dont want to say a week before but far before....I knew that if I was going to end up with someone it was only one person.

That sounds like she is saying that the final choice was hard because she already knew her choice. She says, "I don't want to say a week before, but FAR before I knew that if I was going to end up with anyone, it was only one person".
That sounds like she knew all along but didn't know if that person wanted her, or she'd still feel that way in the end but it was just down to one person. Guess it depends on where the comma's and the emphasis is placed as well as what the words say.

Actually, this part of the quote is not accurate. She says something like she knew far before other leads who didn't make up their mind until the day of the FRC. So to me that means she made her decision before the FRC but less than a week in advance, not that she knew all along. But we shall see. She has a lot of FDs ahead with lots of opportunities to be intimate (not implying sex) with 4 different guys. If she is already in love with only one and has made her choice, like Meredith, she will most probably have difficulty faking intimacy with the others, as did Meredith; I know I would.

I think we have skipped over something. Episode 9 is Maui and the 3:2 cut. In our sleuthing, we seem to have jumped right to the FRC. In between, two guys meet Jillian's parents and there are LCD's. Both of these will be shown the night of the FRC.

The production reports on Hawaii film sites at the time say there were only 2 days of filming on The Big Island. They say the crew would be based at the Hilton Waikola. From the Big Island Weekly, 5/6/09:

And, would they have kept the rejected F3 around for a full week to fly him to the BI so he could propose there the morning of the ceremony, or is it more likely F3 went home after Maui and the F2 proposed early? (or however unlikely, Wes comes back to propose?)

Maybe the reason she knew who she was going to pick the morning of the rose ceremony was because one of the guys related better to her family and she felt he fit better in her life (was better on paper, so to speak.) And then someone else proposes and shakes her confidence in her decision. And we end with suspense up until the last five minutes when she makes her final decision.

Figuring in the apparent timing sequence, does this change anyone's opinions as to what happens?

It has been confusing because there were other filming being done at the same time for different shoes - so have not been able to pin it all down

A ways back - someone DID post that they did not arrive on the Big Island until the 22nd - so.............uuummmmmmmmm - but someone here disputed that

I have wondered as well - if there is a 3rd island involved - have for a while

Yes...I was just looking at some old promos from the beginning of the season and there are two clips of Jillian talking to Wes. One is in the hotel room when Jake confronts them, and she says something to the effect that if he is the one she is meant to be with, she doesn't want to let him go like "this"--implying because someone else accused him of having a girlfriend. Then, there is another one of Jillian in a black strapless dress, (Spain rose ceremony?) where she says that she's kept him despite the fact that everyone keeps telling her he has a girlfriend.

She really seems to fight letting him go...even down to the last minute in Spain when she supposedly makes the cut.

I agree that it is Wes who was difficult for her to let go - Ed left - she didn't let him go - except for maybe in her head.

I think the VO where she says that on the preview - is from a different time - and was spliced to heck

You don't know whether I actually ended up with one person or not....Yeah, I knew exactly what I needed to do on that final day, I was definitely falling for one person, for multiple people, but you have to wait because that final day is extremely interesting.

She then goes on to praise Wes and Reid when asked about each.

Here's a thought...not sure where it should go but I was thinking about how the public views Jillian and why in some seasons they have to be more careful about how they present the results to the media than in others.

Brad got outrage because he didn't pick anyone.

DeAnna got outrage because she wasn't especially likable and she didn't choose the more popular one.

Jason got outrage because he changed his mind after the fact.

Lots of people are mad because it's felt that the star leads on the F2 and F3 guy/girl....but what if the opposite was true. I think the outrage would be just as intense if the lead revealed that they made up their minds early on but were forced to play out the season. People don't really want a love story they want their favorites to "win" which kind of justifies Fliess and Co playing the drama and manipulating the edit.

I just wanted to add that early on she was questioned about her work, and she said for that right now, she is going back to the same company she has been working with, but she isn't sure whether she will continue there or if she will go out on her own and start her own company.

Interesting about the funny twist, I am not sure that the brown suit guy (whomever he is) will be rejected....... maybe she just wants to spend more time getting to know him. Last 5 minutes twist is puzzling........
