You know, if that's true.......and it would be pretty bad if they had CH just LYING in an interview like that......then it seems pretty telling that even with all THAT happening with work, Ed came back for Jillian. I am tending to believe what Ed said to her with "I couldn't stop thinking about you." And perhaps a little of that "absence makes the heart grow fonder" stuff playing into what they BOTH were feeling during the time he wasn't on the show.

Speaking of the time he was not on the show, does anyone know how long he was gone for? (real time, not episode time) I know it is somewhere but I am new here and can't find it!

Look at the filming schedule thread. It should be easy to determine from that based on the episode he left on and the one he came back to.

Using the master film schedule thread with the actual eipsodes, real time was 2 weeks, from about April 15th through April 30th. Someone else may know more than I do but that is what I figured out.

Just out of interest I went back to CH's blog that week. I look forward to see how it all plays out tomorrow in Spain.

It was also on the group date that Jillian first heard there was a chance Ed might be leaving due to his job. I'll be honest, once Ed told Jillian he was leaving that's about all I remember because it was such a blow to her. Anyone who thinks there's any acting going on should have looked into Jillian's eyes that day Ed left. I also saw and talked to Ed that day. He felt horrible and was in an impossible situation. Either way, he was going to let somebody down. I know we'd all like to think we would choose a shot at love over our jobs, be the romantic, but for a young man like Ed who has such a promising career I do understand why he chose to leave.

Let's put the cynical spin on this remark made by Chris Harrison now. Chris Harrison gets his paychecks by doing what TPTB want him to do to promote the show. Chris is not getting to say that Ed decided he wanted to get the heck out of dodge because of personal reasons (2 girlfriends at home) because that would be bad business for the show. Wes is the one that is the villan this season, no need for Ed to be one as well. Not yet anyway. Now, once Wes is booted in the upcoming episode then Ed may be moved over into the villan role. After all, there are enough rumblings going around that Ed is a player. The cynical part of me knows that Chris is only going to say whatever is good for the show. Chris may very well know that Ed wanted out just because, that doesn't mean that Chris is going to tell viewers that. If you really wanted to know what all goes on behind the scenes one might want to Get Chris's wife drunk so that she would spill the beans about the truths that Chris has told her.

I so agree. CH is bought and paid for and everything being said by him, regardless of the vehicle (interviews, blogs, Tweets) has a PR/storyline promotional purpose in mind. In the literal sense of the word, he's a tool.

What stood out to me in that interview was how the two women hosting didn't get the big deal about Ed leaving at all since he wasn't really on their radar. And, CH had to backtrack and explain how so much more went on than what we saw.

CH is a company man of course but sometimes it's useful to see what he says because it's either what they want to promote or hide. I don't think he's lying all the time though. I'm sure there are plenty of things he's not allowed to say but he does seem to get his point of view out there, especially in his tweets.

I wish he could have talked editing with Sadie but I imagine neither of them can get into that too much. I think he did come across as surprised that they didn't get the Ed/Jillian connection. I'm hoping that will translate in them showing more of their upcoming dates.

Anyone I know that just watches the show doesn't get the Ed connection either. they seem to get the Kip connection though and after the last 2 episodes are picking up on the Reid connection with Jillian.
