Bachelorette 5**** Spoilers, episode 7 with screencaps

I didn't say anything about gender. I said we don't know if he makes Jillian laugh because we haven't seen it. We see him laughing at pranks pulled on him by the other guys. We hear Jillian saying that Michael had her laughing a ton. We see her laughing with Reid. We don't SEE her laughing because of something Ed has said or done. He could be hilariously funny, that aspect is just not making it into his edit. Yet, at least.

ETA IMO there is also a HUGE difference between having a sense of humor and having the ABILITY to make others laugh. Very different things.

Actually, if you watch Jillian and Ed's 1-on-1 date, he has her laughing quite a few times. When he tells her she better give him a rose as their dangling at the top of the building, she was laughing. When he said about karaoke "Jillian, it's not about being good, it's about thinking you're good" she laughed. After he kissed her he said "What were you going to say?" and she threw her head back laughing. I think one of the funniest moments of the whole season was after repelling he said "That was the scariest #$*&@% I've ever done". (Can you tell I've watched all of the episodes of all of the guys a few too many times! lol)

Since she is big on her partner having a sense of humor....why would she keep guys who she didn't think could keep up with her in that department, you know? Obviously she must like what she has with the guys she has left or else they wouldn't be there. I always find it funny that people can see who her best friend is and who would match her perfectly when only she can really see that. JMO.

She ran to Reid while he stood there like a doofus. Then they sat on the bench and said how are you and after an uncomfortable silence decided to drink their coffee. Not an auspicious beginning and it didn't get much more exciting after that.

It is very weird how people can have different opinions..........almost like they aren't watching the same show as you are. Bottom line though, she did say that she missed him a lot and they did have a good date together.
Again, editing has a lot to do with those "uncomfortable silences" as you call them. They probulary were talking lots but the talks were edited out to get viewers questioning their connection. Yet lots of other viewers are seeing through the editing to really see that the connection and strong feelings are definately there for both of them.

But the real question is does Ed light up like a Christmas tree when Jillian is around? I don't feel that he is as much into her as she is into him. And eventually she'll figure out.

I think you have pegged that correctly!!!!
Yet on the other hand, I do see that excitement from Reid and Kip towards Jill.

A lot of it is in the perception of the person viewing, which is why things get so heated in here at times

I could make a list of moments for all F3 guys that could strongly show that Jillian is head over heels for that guy. What gets interesting is the fans of the other guy views the same moment and sees something completely different.

Since we are in episode 7, let's take the bench scene with Reid and Jill. What some interpret as awkward silence is actually Reid and Jill being silly, by looking towards each other at the same time, looking away, then looking back to one another in sync (wonder how many takes they had to do to get that one on film!) and then participating in a little eskimo kiss. And while some saw the Ed/Jillian talk as completely staged there was a very true moment in there where he brushed her bangs out of her eyes and she got all googly-eyed.
I think too many people close their mind once they have a favorite and overlook signs that point to another guy.

I noticed that too..........I think that they are very affectionate towards each other and they definately have an eyes on connection with each other. They mostly look into each others eyes, no matter which one of them are talking...........I find that very cute. They definately have each others attention.

Yup - she ran to Reid - coffee in hands and all - and they HUGGED - full hugs - arms around each other - coffee in hands and all - being objective here - they had a great HTD - in many respects their behavior was pretty normal - both being nervous and all.

Regarding Ed not making Jillian laugh. So far we have seen very little of Ed therefore I can't comment on whether he's a fun guy or not. I'm betting we will see alot more in the coming weeks.

I also want to point out, I was in a relationship with a guy who was extremely quiet. 6'4" tall dark and handsome, hardly said two words in a crowd. In all the 7 yrs that I was with him, I always was told, such a nice guy, but so quiet. And because he was so quiet, often times that was mistaken for "strange behavior". I can relate to why some on here think there's something strange about him. He is a very bad actor. Most of what he has done or said is producer driven, IMO, and he is totally uncomfortable with that and its obvious. When they are together, he has no problem, the fountain pic, the carriage ride, the sailboat cap, all show a very passionatte Ed.

Regarding Reid, Why on earth would they give him two hot coffee cups to hold when he meets Jillian? That makes no sense to me at all. Meet near a bench where you can place the cups. That was the most awkward hello. JMO
I still think we will be hearing his Dad's advice on his home town date, a few more times, about just going for it if you want it.

Kip, so far, he's adorable, IMO they are just not right for eachother. As for him being the bachelor, somehow I get the feeling, he wouldn't choose anyone, then again, it would be great for him to really find his true love and we can all watch!!





Its amazing how one statement can have so many different meanings depending on which side you are on!

The bolded part, isn't that kind of reminiscent of Jesse's HTD talk with his dad.............
