I couldn't even believe that Jillian told Ed "when you find the right girl for you, don't let work get in the way" (not exact, but close). Is she even living in the 21st century, in reality? How many times has almost everyone's job/career/work gotten in the way of personal time with family/SO's? I cannot believe that a 29-year-old actually said that, but then she was probably playing a role.

He's not necessarily wrong about that number...especially if you take into account all the guys who were still present when it was said. Just saying...

This is from someone who put work first and lost....I was teaching at a private school one year and my fiance's job transferred him to Nashville. I chose to stay and finish the school year (he moved in October so there was a lot of school year left) because I felt a loyalty to my students who had behavioral issues and I was afraid of upsetting their lives. By March he met someone else and I lost out on the dream life I wanted with him. So, I can understand what Jillian was saying. I am not saying Ed was wrong in leaving, they were not in a solid relationship at that point, he was just one of the front runners. I can understand his decision but I can understand her feelings too. My b/f and I had been together six years.

I agree with you completely..........I don't understand how anyone might be able to trust someone when it comes to stability and helping through the tough times, when they can bail that easily..........

Re: Bachelorette 5**** Spoilers, episode 6 with Screencaps

Seriously this is a reality tv show, this is not tough times. 6 weeks is not time enough to know for sure, and especially in settings that normal blue collar people could not afford in their wildest of dreams. After all the seasons and all that has been said and done on these shows, I am surprised by those who take it so seriously.

It's nice to know that someone agrees with me.I said earlier on this thread that I wasn't sure how Jilly could pick Ed over two guys who took the risk and made possible sacrifices.Ed couldn't do that for her.

And boy did I get slammed for that. I think that he should have made absolutely certain that he could make the 8 week commitment before he signed on.That includes making sure that he had everything covered(maybe even by a backup person) just in case something came up.

Re: Bachelorette 5**** Spoilers, episode 6 with Screencaps

Which is what I don't think he did. Make the 8-week commitment, that is. I think he panicked when he realized he didn't get the boot soon enough. And, I think it was his idea to call work and tell them he was going to be longer than he thought. That's when the trouble started, I'll bet. And, since this is supposedly a new job for him, I'm not sure why he signed up in the first place.

Re: Bachelorette 5**** Spoilers, episode 6 with Screencaps

That worries me that he didn't have the foresight to take the entire 8 weeks off just in case things went well with Jilly. That tells me that he did not plan accordingly. It almost sounds like he was expecting work to interrupt during the filming and that's why he didn't take off the full amount of time from the start.

Sorry that happened to you. But maybe it would have been worse if you had gone, married him and then he ran around on you...you never know.

I'm not saying Ed was right or wrong; it's his life. I just think that Jillian was being immature and selfish to kinda guilt-trip him about it. If they end up together, hope she doesn't throw a fit when he has to work and postpone their dinner plans or vacation, etc.

But all of that is assuming that the scenarios on this show are real. If you want to understand about how unreal this show and TB are, talk to a former cast member or do a search on PunkyBachelor's posts here (who is). Plus there are many long-time posters here who have posted about editting (splicing and dicing), and then there's the manipulation of the cast members by producers and staff. I have learned quite a bit by reading here. I used to think that reality shows were reality shows.

Putting work before a fiance is a lot different than putting work before a girl you barely know.
