It went by so fast I couldn't catch it exactly and I am 99% sure they did not show that during the original episode. Can anyone clarify that statement and if I heard it correctly?

That statement says to me there were more reasons than Reid just not being able to say ILY and even a confession of love at the last minute might not be enough. I'm worried that was thrown in last night as a spoiler for the audience to be prepared for his 2nd rejection.
Jillian needs a form of commitment - and Reid was not able to do that - it is not just the ILY words - one can love and not be able to commit

If she knows she's with Reid, then she knows her audience will be happy and not raging at her next week. This to me, on further inspection shows that she's buffering for a bigger onslaught of rage next week due to choosing Ed and breaking up with Reid once more.
respectfully, I disagree that is a buffer for backlash if Reid comes back and she rejects him again. a blanket statement as for her being a great judge of character is NOT a buffer for her turning away a suitor who comes back to profess his love and make a commitment to her - getting down on his knees to propose!

this is what she says she wants: "All I wanted and would have been happy with [this is very strange phrasing by the way] was someone to love who loved me back. Someone who had some sort of conviction of how they felt, or was willing to make a sacrifice of any kind, as I had stated several times that I was eager to do the same. Not only is this conviction from the guy an indication for me to move forward with the relationship, but it is also an indication of what our life would be like post-show."

Reid coming back taking a HUGE risk of getting hurt when she had once alread rejected him, to be rejected again! blows her comments on her blog out of the water...

But the question was "why should she be?" It's not anyone's place to make these judgements and harsh comments, yet people feel compelled to do it anyway.

And her line about being "sorry if she cut one of your faves" (paraphrasing) is very telling...since Reid is the only one out of the 3 final guys who has been cut...
Yeah, initially I read into the blog what I wanted to but now I can see how she's really preparing herself to get lamb basted for her decisions and I'm not liking it.

    SEASON FINALE

IT'S ONE OF THE MOST ROMANTIC AND DRAMATIC NIGHTS EVER ON ABC,
ON THE SEASON FINALE OF "THE BACHELORETTE" MONDAY, JULY 27

With Time Running Out, Jillian Makes a Momentous Decision
    That Will Change Her Life

"Episode 510" - In this gripping special conclusion, Jillian, the vivacious restaurant designer who began her search for love with 30 bachelors, has survived a dramatic, rocky road and found herself falling in love with two wonderful men, Ed and Kiptyn. As she prepares to make one of the most difficult decisions of her life, she invites the two remaining bachelors to the Big Island of Hawaii to meet her family. Then the men have one last chance to lay their hearts on the line, each trying to guarantee that he will be the one to get Jillian's final rose. But in the most dramatic and emotional conclusion in "Bachelorette" history, there is an unexpected confession that changes everything. Will Jillian find her soul mate? It's a decision that will change her life forever, on the Season Finale of "The Bachelorette," MONDAY, JULY 27 (8:00-10:02 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Jillian continues her amorous adventures on the Big Island of Hawaii where her mom, dad, grandma and cousin arrive to assist her with one of the toughest decisions of her life. Not wanting to see her heartbroken again, her family grills both Ed and Kiptyn about their intentions and their feelings for Jillian.

After her family weighs in on her options, Jillian takes Ed on a panoramic helicopter ride above the Big Island's bubbling lava pits. Jillian is falling for this sensitive bachelor, but time is running out for her to make sure she has real chemistry with him. Landing in a lush jungle, the two enjoy a private lunch and a romantic dip in a private lagoon, but Ed must convince Jillian that they are compatible.

Next, Jillian takes Kiptyn on a romantic boat ride to a secluded beach, where the couple share a picnic lunch and frolic in the water. Their physical attraction is undeniable, but Jillian still needs to make sure that Kiptyn is prepared for a future with her. Will he finally share the depth of his feelings for her?

As the moment of decision approaches, Jillian is torn. She is in love with both men and knows she would have an incredible life with either one. A tearful Jillian wrestles with her emotions and is ready to make her ultimate decision, but at the very last minute one man's shocking change of heart makes Jillian question everything. Does she find her best friend, soul mate and future husband?

    The two remaining men are:
Ed, 29, technology consultant from Chicago, IL.
Kiptyn, 31, business developer from Encinitas, CA.

Hosted by Chris Harrison, "The Bachelorette" is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton are the executive producers. This program is broadcast with Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. A TV parental guideline will be posted closer to air date.

I don't know what you're talking about, honestly. I'm not trying to be snarky but do you think this show was created so Jilly Bean can find her true love? No. She herself is just being used to give the audience what they want. It's entertainment for the masses so yeah, she does have to answer to her audience. This show isn't coming from the goodness of MF and ABC's hearts to create a beautiful fairy tale for Jillian Harris. It's for money and ratings and that's directly tied to the audience.

Yes, she's going to have another 'controversial' episode.
    My favorites: Reid and Kiptyn

Reading the press release, it means that Reid doesn't come back until the end. Ugh, I can't wait that long!

I do see what you're saying but read another way: Reid wouldn't give it to me, he wasn't the one anyway, it's my life. Ed is super. Pull my finger!! ()

I want her to wise up and make the right decision and choose Reid but RS and her blog are really making me question whether she did or didn't. She is just being on the defensive a little too much to make the audience absolutely in love and thrilled with her next week imo.
