I disagree. I actually think he's being genuine with Jillian. Rumors aside, what reason does Ed have to become an actor? Furthermore, gf gate is as bad as folks are making it sound, then why would he go through that and come back for Jillian?

    Doesn't make sense to me.

The best answer is that he is into her.

    LOL yes it was.

A disaster filming wise could correspond to a number of things, but saying " the story this season is that there is no love story" is a pretty definite piece of information is it not?
Yet there's still a show to complete. The romanticizing of a Reid return is curious to me as I wouldn't want to be anyone's 3rd choice regardless of how it came about. I also would not completely trust the decision maker to the point of delivering a proposal a mere week later after being sent packing. I wonder if it was Ed or Kip returning in such a way if the acceptability of a return engagement would be the same?

I keep wondering how they going to deliver this "outcome" to the viewing public in any way that makes sense and appears believable. The idea that she rejects both F1 & F2 makes her appear unbalanced and unsure and certainly not someone that should be accepting any marriage proposals regardless of who they come from.

So, to tell the story, in a way that makes it ok for the viewing public. I would guess, in the edit:
-one guy has to take a dark turn
-another bows out or they realize they're better off as friends.

Otherwise, it makes her look like she's using either or both of the F2 for her own purposes. I hate to say it but I think regardless of how they try to tie it up with a bow at the end - she's going to look emotionally immature and silly.

Exactly. If she loves him and unhappy he is unable to commit, why wouldn't she keep him for the additional dates down the pike? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, does it?

He could also be pretending to be crazy about her because he is enjoying the free travel to Spain and Hawaii, doing something adventurous in what I am guessing is generally a pretty sedentary life, and trying to get into a pretty girl's pants.

IMO, he just isn't convincing me with the "pretending to be crazy about her" part.

Unless there's some major splice and dice going on it doesn't sound to me like she woke up planning on letting both the F2 go. The VO makes it sound like she was sure of her F1 but she needed some time to consider things when the guy who was so hard to let go came back.
Someone should find Jillian's VO where she says when she woke up that morning she was excited about getting engaged. I've heard it once and I thought the word "tonight" or "today" was spliced in at the end. What if this was something she said, but not on FRC day when she would be choosing between Ed and Kip? What if it was something she said later - maybe before the ATFRC when she would give her answer to Reid? How early was this VO used - as early as the premiere or later (after filming had ended and all decisions had been made)?

I guess that is why it is a good thing that the only one he has to "convince"....is Jillian.

Not much of anything seems to make sense at this point. I can't remember a season with so many rumors, intrigue and imagination!!

It should be interesting to hear what Jillian has to say about her season and the real facts of the show. Think I will wait to hear from Jillian's mouth what went down this season.
I think it has been stated before by a few posters today that there are varying degrees of what a love story is compared to whom you talk to. I believe that Jill did find true love, and that is with REID.
