Re: Bachelorette 5 Thoughts and Comments

All her talk about not losing her mind could be key too and I think it relates to Reid and Ed not Kip. Still say it's hilarious if he wins and I have no prob with it either. He's cute and nice.

Not losing her mind with Ed:

Taking him back and the lack of passion in private. She could fear we'd think she's losing her mind by taking him back when she is still worried about his ability to put her first. She seems to have moved beyond that but she knows Ed could very easily fall back into workaholic pattern. She might think we think she's nuts taking that chance. The lack of romance in private could be another reason she would think we would think she lost her mind while choosing him because it's a big risk. Now this one I think will play out this week with again more info than we want or need. She'll pretty much say they worked it out and he's all good. It's Fleiss so Ed will prob come out zipping his fly with a bottle of Viagra in his hand because Fleiss will do anything to advertise. lol Both of these could make her think we think she's nuts.

Not losing her mind with Reid:

She let him go once ala Molly/Jason and could very well fear she will get backlash. She's made it clear she won't pull a Jason and as she's a little insecure to start I tend to think she won't change her mind again. Now I don't see changing your mind before the proposals as the same thing Jason did which was after the ring but Jill might. She might think we are nuts because she changed her mind and didn't follow her initial gut instinct which is what most people do go by. Jill seems to go a lot by her inuition so taking him back would be against that. She might think even though there is a risk with all that Reid might be hardest to get to altar even with a ring as he will definitely want to date a while first.

Now I'm not saying either of these are true or ripping either guy.

truthfully it has NOTHING to do with that but more with her insecurities. no one is perfect but to constantly need reassurance takes away from the natural flow a good relationship should have. imo actions speak louder than words. love is a beautiful thing but it shouldn't be or feel forced, but happen naturally. jmo.

I am almost thinking I'd rather Reid be the next Bach, so I could see him each week!!

I felt the same way last year with respect to Graham. What a great looking guy! Now when I need a "Graham Fix", I just drag out some old pics from the web. Then, I go back to my real life. I suppose I'll add some pics of Reid to the collection. Such a sad life I lead!

Those comments of Ed's are what made me think he's gotten swept up into the romance of "The Bachelorette" and not in the bachelorette. He likes the idea of being in love with the hot, sexy chic who is starring on a tv show but is not in love with Jillian the woman.

I love Jill and I do think she's desperate. Doesn't make her a bad person but it is what it is. She's desperate for the ring. It's been a big theme of this show for weeks now. I can't remember anyone else putting so much pressure on what will happen the last day as Jill.

[QUOTE=blasie;3575492;]And I am as old as Reid's mother so that makes beyond a cougar and into the category of sabre tooth tiger. In my day ship board romances were common occurances. When I started watching this show I realized how similar the situations were. You are on the high seas and no contact with your real life. Every night at dinner passengers wore tuxedos and evening gowns, orchestras played 'til the wee hours of the morning. Very little to do but hang out by the pool during the day......a breeding ground for romance. Ship captains can perform wedding ceremonies. Love may be fleeting, but that kind of romance rarely lasts once everyone's feet are on terra firma.

No one can know if any of the couples from the show will survive IRW. It is incredulous to me to think that a viewer or fan would consider that proposals on the show would be valid and binding. It's just TV. Early in this season I regarded Jillian as a persona ....she came across as a teacher giving a lesson and following a curriculum......kinda like WELCOME BACK JILLIAN. The guys all seemed like stereotypes. The conversations were awkward as were the obligatory make-out sessions. Six-pack by six-pack the beefcake was eliminated, as were the freaks and the clueless. The last two standing are, the strong silent super-hero.....able to climb tall poles with a single bound, and Don Draper from Mad Men who has two identities and makes frequent mysterious business trips and it's no coincidence that female companionship is readily available despite his inability to show emotion.

As the crowd thinned, Jillian found a real boy who kissed her and turned her into a real girl. She was freed from her persona and she became a person who longed for the Real World. She released the real boy, even though it broke her heart, and if he comes back for her she will know that his love is true.

If anyone says that there is no love story here then they can't be helped, but those of us who can, see it like a Chagal painting, and we are crying and laughing and cheering and wishing them the best.[/QUOTE]

[boldface paragraph 1] So well said! And Jillian did say [paraphrase] you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince! Oh, yes, Reid is definitely the Real Boy. Reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit!

[Boldface paragraph 2] OH, what a beautiful way to put it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to copy your post and save it! Thanks, Blasie!

get out of my head! lol
you said exactly what i was thinking. she's wishywashy. she didn't want a ring in the beginning but wanted to find that right person who could be the one. and now it's all about the ring.

LOL. It's making me sad for her because she is so desperate and pushing so much that in the end no matter who she chooses might be able to stand up to that kind of pressure. It's a lot on a new relationship.

The last two seasons had a surprise ending where the less popular person ultimately was chosen. Based on the three-pronged bad edit Ed got this week (problems in bedroom, weird clothes, HOTT Jillian comments), they are setting him up to be the less popular choice IMO. If you look at some polls, it worked because his popularity appears to be slipping. We know Fleiss is only interested in ratings, which he feels necessitate the surprise/shock at the end (unfortunately he's been proven right) and is willing to risk outrage to get them. Was the plan this season to give us another surprise ending, but this time with the "popular" choice, so as to get ratings without the outrage?
