I dont think they backed Reid into a corner until he caved. I doubt they had to anything like that. They wouldnt have had to push the guy hard at all if he really convinced himself that he cared for her.

Did they encourage him? Sure. But at the very least, it must have been a huge boost for his ego to have the chance to be with the girl at the end. If someone that you cared about dumped you for another and then said, one week later, "I shouldnt have let you go " or "I made a mistake" wouldnt it be possible that you'd be thrilled? I think many folks would react that way.
Regardless of whether he was backed into a corner or not if Reid is let go at F3 and then sequestered in Hawaii that must have been a fairly torturous time. He gets rejected then doesn't get to go home to heal but instead hangs out in Hawaii knowing that the woman he cares about is off on her LCDs with the other guys? Doesn't sound like fun to me. Then, supposing he does come back to try again, does she leap into his arms? Or tell him she needs tome to think about it (more torture)? Or turn him down a second time? (even more torture). Just seems to me like Hawaii is one big case of indigestion waiting to happen. JMO.

In addition, and I say this as a Reid fan: for most women, he would not be in the same league -- especially on a first impression -- as Ed or Kip. I think Reid's had no problem dating, but I don't believe he's always gotten the volume of opportunity that Ed and Kip undoubtedly have. What I mean by all this is to say that it is more believable to me that Reid would fall for Jillian, and jump at a second chance to be with her, should the opportunity present itself.
ITA. Ed and Kip seem to me that they would have women falling all over themselves for a chance to date either Kip or Ed but Reid is more, I don't even know the word, nerdy, what some might say as 'adorkable.' I see Jilly and Reid more in the same league, not that I don't think Jilly isn't seriously cute but she just seems very insecure and unsure of herself with men like Kip and Ed. With Reid, both of them feel safe and secure enough to be themselves and neither is trying too hard to be more sophisticated or whatever. For example, I can't imagine Jilly feeling safe enough with Ed or Kip to do the whole baaing like a goat thing or climbing on their shoulders to pick oranges. She's always trying too hard with the other two while with Reid, she's adorable and flirty and so, so naturally cute without feeling awkward or not good enough.

Of course I wasn't being serious about the bed and toilet - my point is that after he's let go tonight (if he is) he will definitely not be sent home to Philly, but worked on by the peeps to encourage him to express his feelings to Jillian (much the way Jeremy was towards Deanna).

If the producers intentions were pure in this scenario AT ALL, he would've been on a plane back to Philly......

If some guy dumped me for 2 other girls (and right now we don't know Jilly's explanation) and came back a week later and wanted a second chance, I'd tell him to go to hell.

I think Reid is every bit as good-looking as Kip, actually. The difference is that he is a little more neurotic and he's not wealthy. And I certainly think he is hot enough for Jillian IRL. Just my opinion.

As far as telling her to go to Hell, I can see why he would do that normally but not necessarily in this situation. He knows, or at least suspects, that the other guys are telling her exactly what she wants to hear. He knows she is confused and under a lot of pressure. So, I could see him giving her a hard time about it (partly in a humorous way) and taking his time to trust again; but I can definitely see him giving her another shot.

All I can say is that I hope she takes him back and dumps Ed. It would make me kind of ill if she ended up with Ed. And she refers to what happens in the end as "a funny twist." If she rejects Reid, I doubt he finds it funny at all.

I agree with you, personally -- he's much more my type. And yes, he's certainly a catch for Jillian. I'm just pointing out that most women in America would find Ed or Kip hotter on first meeting them, and that Jillian herself seems to recognize that under normal circumstances, those two might be out of her league.

Yes, that had to be awful, but perhaps not much different than most F3's experience. Maybe it would better to be sequestered in private than to have to face your friends and coworkers and pretend , 24 hours later, that your heart wasnt broken. I'd love to know more about the sequestering issue. Was it a last minute adjustment to the schedule? How did they explain it to him? How much did he know during that period of time?

Reid didn't dump Jillian - he doesn't get to go back, that is Jillian's decision.

maybe he wasn't sequestered, maybe he was supposed to fly back to Philly a couple days after being cut, but then he told producers who wanted to talk to Jill one more time, and of course they jumped on that, and as a result he ended up being brought to BI, talked to her, THEN had to stay until the end for her final decision

omgoodness i feel like a lightning bolt just hit me. i think this fits into everything that has been said or hinted at, ESPECIALLY the idea that the finale is a 2 parter

    ok just bare with me...
reid leaves tonight and jillian is devastateddd -> final episode goes on as it normally does -> jill rejects kip, kip says a lot of stuff abt ed like "your making the wrong choice" and we hear jill say "it was hard to hear some of the things he said" and "did i make the right choice??" -> after kip is gone, when we think ed is on his way, Reid shows up, does his shpeal, and now jill ia REALLY torn, all she can think about is how "she wishes she could have more time" -> reid leaves, ed shows up, jill breaks down, foesnt know what to do, and finally says she cant do it, she needs more time -> show ENDS

flash forward to atfr night -> jill comes out alone, chris and her talk about how tge audience still doesnt know who she picked (if anyone) -> then they roll a clip of them back on hawaii (that night, the next day, whatever) showing one last rose ceremony and who she picks -> cut back to tge atfr the man she picks walks out and joins jilly on stage!!!!

^^^ all of the above with 687854 commercials cut inbetween

am i going crazy?? or does this totally work??? i think you can put every quote from the previews in there and it meshes well w everything jill has said in interviews! she mentions the last 5 minutes "you dont know if i end up w one person or not" well how was she to know back then the finale was going to be a 2 parter? they hadnt edited it yet, all she was saying is that some drama goes down at the frc i think

also this accounts for their slightly longer stay in hawaii (and am i dreaming or did chris tweet abt a post poned frc?)
