Kiptyn **Spoilers**

Most of us on this thread don't want him to be the Bachelor because of the Fleiss flavoring. He doesn't appear to need the show. I don't really see vanilla at all. I see a man who's mature, with a warm, positive nature who is in a different place emotionally than many of the boys that they selected for the show. Someone who wanted to take a chance and try something new. Just because he doesn't make an a** of himself doesn't mean that viewers find him boring, I find it refreshing.

Given the horrible feedback on many of the boards today re: the show and Jillian's thought process, it's fairly evident that most folks are tired of tuning in to see a freak show.

I'm sure he's a wonderful person. Not my intent at all to comment on what I prefer in "real life" but rather what Fleiss prefers in his alternate universe. And viewers still watch. No matter how big the shark is and how high it's jumped.

ETA: We wouldn't have nearly as much to discuss on the boards if this show were all mature and logical and emotionally intelligent.

I understand what you're saying but I"d rather watch only 2-3 weeks mini-series style with the serious ones than 8-9 weeks drawn out weeks of the David, Wes, Tanner types that you know have no chance at all of being picked. I find that stuff to be so tedious.

I think his edit has been very bland so far. Perfect tabula rasa edit--since the female viewers love him at the very least on a visual level--for Future Bachelor. Viewers can project all of their hopes and dreams onto such a visually stunning blank slate. However, if he's somewhat vanilla in the personality department (and please don't jump on me here--I know that many people prefer vanilla--but Fleiss doesn't), then expect TPTB to pump up a potential flatline season with lots of odd characters. Tanner has achieved a new height in his fetish and "package" edit. Expect more of such "characters" if Kiptyn is the next Bach.

If he is the next bachelor, I'm a firm believer in that Kiptyn and alot of the guys were cast for Melissa with Fleiss thinking Melissa would agree to being the Bachelorette. So If Kiptyn is the next bachelor I totally picture a bunch of out there, happy go lucky , melissa like girls.

I hope Kip doesn't do it - his twitters and the interview posted in this thread have shown that he's a very busy guy. Hopefully once was enough - I don't want a retread.

I know you're not alone in that preference. We've said many times that the show doesn't become interesting in a "real" way until the HTDs. For me the interest is in the farce and in FORT's take on it. I guess I've surrendered to the fact that this show is what it is.

Just heard Kip on the radio. Delightful!

Highlights:

-Spoke about the Switchfoot Bro-Am raise money for kid's charity - Moonlight Beach - 5000 - 6000 people attend. Money goes to Stand Up for Kids

laughed a lot - said he can't talk much about the show but was able to share:
-They asked why he went on the show- at first he wasn't going to do it when asked then he thought about it said why not - he was at that point in his life
-said Jillian's an amazing girl
-It was unique, once in a lifetime experience
-He's fine with his edit - feels he being betrayed fairly and accurately.. it's real
-Says they can't show anything that you don't give them ..it's a fair shake
-Knew very little about Jillian when he went on the show ..purposely didn't want to have preconceived notions about her
-said he manages a couple of business + the charity events work
-They asked if the women are mobbing him: (when he answered he sounded a little evasive here) He said so busy - social life hasn't changed since he returned because he's been so busy with the event and spending lots of time with family - taking everything day by day - been really busy
- They told him that he should have picture session at the charity event so girls could get their pics with him for $5 or have a kissing booth to raise money - said he'd make a ton of money
-He seemed embarassed ..said no no..Saturday's about the kids - it gives them a chance to be a kid and shine - says the kids are inspirational

-The hosts said women AIMing the station like crazy about him - if he doesn't get picked by Jillian they want him to come back and want to auction him off for charity

-Said he'd come back on the radio show and talk more after TB is over

He's sounded very happy and content.

Thanks StanleyCupCanes! Glad to hear he sounded happy. Even if he isn't F1, I'm sure he took all the stuff that happened in the show as lessons learned and charged them to experience. Jillian said something about him always looking at the good in everything. Still think he is F1 though. He might not be allowed to elaborate much about TB since he is going further (probably till the last episode). He is such a genuine and compassionate person that I don't want him to go through the whole process again and be subjected to Fleissian tricks. IF he isn't the F1, I hope he doesn't do TB.

ding, ding - the show is what it is, and I know I've been guilty of getting caught up in the hype of this board, moreso than the show - and as always, my fave guy isn't one of the F4, so I can watch and interpret without prejudice.

Will it be Reid, Kip or Ed - I have no idea -no one knows for sure, one thing I know for sure -there are going to be a lot of unhappy people no matter who she chooses.

I'm concerned about Jillian's comment in a PI at the final rose ceremony where she says "it was really hard for me to hear what he had to say". I can't help but think she's talking about Kip. Could she actually pick him and he turns her down? She also says something like "I panicked. Did I pick the wrong person?" What do you guys make of those comments coupled with Kip saying "I didn't question it until today."

Maybe kip is so sure of their relationship going into FRC that he's shocked to be eliminated, he then comes back and tells her he didn't question it until today (the day she let him go). Says other things he's meant to say and then she questions her decision. And if her F1 is Ed, I don't blame her for questioning that!

Kiptyn's HTD:

The seemingly "perfect" Kiptyn, the handsome bachelor who took Jillian's breath away at their first hello, greets the Bachelorette at his hometown of San Diego. Can she live up to the expectations of his family, who are just as flawless as Kiptyn?

I think that might be the reason she let Kip go at F2...thinking that she couldn't live up to his expectations...similar to the reason she gave Jake.
