I don't think that's what sdl said - someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I understood him to say that there definitely was no love connection in the end, which equalled a "friggin disaster". I thought the Hawaii comment was that he didn't know all the details about who/how the dates went, but it didn't matter because the bottom line was - no love connection.

This is completely not true. Reid does not have braces at all. Had them when he was 12-13.

That was the first post that I found of his concerning the season being a disaster. I seem to remember him saying that he had not heard anything about how it went in Hawaii. I will see if I can find that post and put it here too.

Again, not sure that he was told what happened once they went to Hawaii. Maybe the story "changed" some while they were there? I don't know.

Wow, this is good info. Another thought that's still lingering with me (and would love to hear FORTers opinions) is that in several of the show previews, there was reference to 3 guys (not just one) with girlfriends. Ed could very well be one of those guys. Him leaving so suddenly "for work" just seems shady. Also, are the guys allowed to be in contact with anyone at home? (Ed's reference to a "conference call" with his boss?)

Jillian boils down it down herself (on phone interview): "You know, do I pick the guy who has everything I want on paper? Do I pick the guy who makes me laugh and would be my best friend? Do I pick the guy who makes my heart go pitter patter? Do I pick the guy that everybody else likes?"

I think guy good on paper is Ed, best friend guy who makes her laugh is Reid, and pitter patter guy is Kip.

Now that still doesn't shed light on who she picks!

Well - that explains everything then - they all to commune in Utah and have a happy every after - that makes it about as clear as mud LOL

She has put a lot of emphasis on marrying her best friend so that could be telling. If however none of these have all these things that she wants and none fit that bill I hope she doesn't settle just because she really wants to get married.

High drama her season was getting those animal slippers at her meet and greet. This season we got the guy totally enthralled with what's inside those slippers--and that was just comic relief--no real drama attached.

Jeremy from DeAnna's season has said that all the guys brought in cell phones and a couple of them even brought in small computers. So yes, they're all in contact with people in the outside world even if the 'rules' say they're not supposed to be.

Jeremy said the producers confiscated the phones they found but they outsmarted them by bringing an old phone or a cheap one they had just picked up to turn over to the gatekeepers.

And someone who worked at the same company posted, a while ago now, that Brian the naked pool jumper had regular conference calls with his place of employment. Doesn't sound like Ed got special treatment.
