Re: The Aftermath

I am so tired of everyone blaming De for Ty being away from his father. Jason is the one who agreed to do the show. Jason is the one who left for six weeks. Jason is the one who allowed his son to be filmed. Jason always had the say-so. This was not De's responsibility nor was the editing.

If we can believe two people could actually know they're in love and ready to commit to a marriage after spending random amounts of time together spread out over only 5 weeks and 5 days - why couldn't guys who lived together almost constantly for 4 weeks know whether or not somebody seems like a decent guy?
ITA - and considering the circumstances - living on top of each other combined with the stress of camera crews, 1/1 dates, 2/1 dates, date boxes, group dates, RCs, etc. - I would think the bad side of a person would probably surface at least once in a 4 week period.

DeAnna proclaims to the world that she's ready to settle down, 3 kids before 30, etc. etc. Then she tells Jesse on the FD that she wants 3 kids before 30....BUT...then she hesitates a second, as if to watch his reaction, then quickly adds something to the effect that her the kid schedule could be adjusted. That's NOT what she's been adamantly stating the entire season!

Then Jesse basically tells his dad on the HTD that he's not ready to get married. He then turns around and tells DeAnna a week (or two) later that he hopes she's ready to say yes, because that's where he's headed.

The things they say to each other appear to me to be nothing but what they think the other WANTS to hear, i.e., campaign strategy. Adjust the game plan to make sure the other isn't scared off.

Talk about starting off on a strong foundation! And a match made in heaven!

Yeah, I know, people's plans can change. But they're both not 18 anymore. While 26 is still very young, it's old enough to have made decisions as to the direction you want your life to head and to know what you want.

And in this case, the adjustments they are making to what they thought they wanted with their lives do not involve trivial issues - these are major, life-altering decisions with long-term repercussions. I want kids now, I don't want kids now...I don't want to get married now, I want to get married now. You DON'T make such life-changing decisions in the course of 2 or 3 weeks of reality-based TV filming.

Suffice it to say, I don't believe there will be a wedding. It's nothing more than campaign strategy to keep them both in the limelight so they won't simply vanish like all the others.

And I can't help but wonder what would happen if DeAnna puts a baking sheet in the "lid" drawer. Obviously, Jesse is obsessively organized - hope DeAnna is too. If not, she probably needs to start changing that too.

I absolutely agree. It sounds like a bit of damage control to me since from all appearances this season didn't go the way they were hoping it would.

Yeah, I agree that this may well be what happened. The problem for me is that I didn't see any butterflies with either Jesse *or* Jason, for starters! And, if she did get butterflies with Jesse, then she must have gotten them at the very last minute. And while that may -- in the real world -- turn out to be just as important as feeling them from early on, it really leaves me in doubt every time I believe that a Bach/Bachette actually *didn't* decide between the final two until the last minute. I'd better really really really see butterflies Monday night, or it just isn't going to feel right to me -- from a viewer's perspective -- no matter what the truth may be.

I actually haven't heard any of the accounts you mention, saying that Jesse and she had chemistry all along. I know I've heard guys say that they saw DeAnna drawn to *him* all along, but I missed the ones that said they saw him having chemistry back, I guess, and I didn't see it because of the way he held back on that sort of thing. I'm not saying that he and she don't feel it, just that, to me, the show didn't really exhibit that they did, the way they told the story.

welll.... maybe we need to look in another direction that has been hinted at by all the guys..... De may have gotten an awesome edit to make her out to be a sweet princess when in fact she is a wicked step-sister... you never know.

If the viewers like these guys more and are more invested in them, then she's going to be seen as the heartbreaker and less likeable. She's no longer the main character in her own story, thus, people care less about what happens to her and Jesse. He, too, didn't really have a starring role either. She lost her audience and likeability in some respects due to the way Fleiss chose to portray her on the screen.
You are so right!

I've never liked Deanna and was a Jenni supporter during Brad's season. In fact, I almost didn't watch this season because of my feelings for DeAnna.

I fell for Jason (and Ty) from the first episode and I thought I had truly seen the connection and a love story throughout the entire process. I put my true feelings for DeAnna aside and became invested in this couple....or so I thought.

Upon reflection, Jason and Ty were the "couple" I've been rooting for this entire time. For me, the show was about my feelings for them and not necessarily DeAnna and them.

Interesting dynamic and I wasn't forced to honestly think about it until I found out Jesse is the F1. Hmmm......

Re: The Aftermath

WTH is going on? Jesse won?....

I was snooping on another thread here in the Spoliers dept, not wanting to know what happens in the end - ha ha ha. Then I got mad at myself for seeing that Jason won. It was mentioned on another thread that there is a clip of Jesse leaving alone in the limo, and Jason won. Someone also has an avatar of DeAnna and Jason kissing at the FRC and I find it hard to believe she'd be kissing him like that if he wasn't staying.

Although... 1. Jesse is offering the ring on the side that they usually pose the winners on (except for Matt and Shayne if I'm not mistaken) and 2. When Jason arrives at the FRC she says in a funny voice "you look great" or something like that, which is usually the first thing they say to the losers.

I don't know what to think. And now I don't know if I should come back here for an explanation, or stay over at the other board, in suspense

Re: The Aftermath

Just a question to throw out here. Has anyone discussed why it took her a week to make her final decision? And how did that week affect the timeline that was determined? Wouldn't that have thrown off the FRC date off?
