I will say this: Of every season of this reality show that I have seen, this one is the most real. The situations are not completely controlled as in the past, and it seems much less scripted. There appears to be a hands off approach in the editing so that everybody gets a bad edit; therefore, your main characters are really coming off bigger than life and most likely more truly depicted than ever before.

Rather than the sweet, docile "knows her place" Southern woman, you have the strong- willed determined woman who tries to do well by everyone but still makes mistakes-who, nevertheless, is however the kind of woman necessary to carry off this difficult role.
The ultra good-looking, available, successful, fun, and "can have any woman they want" men sometimes come off looking like the jerks, cads, and "full of themselves" men that they also can be.

Although oddly edited as compared to shows in the past, this show still seems very real to me. That last episode had just about everything in it to me and was probably the overall best episode I have ever seen - even if I did feel very comfortable during the Graham/DeAnna scene.

One of the things that Deanna has said this season is that she has to get away from picking the same type of guy she usually picks (Brad); so picking Jesse would certainly break that mold. Whether she picks Jesse (which according to Cape and her SC, she does not) or Jason, which is the general consensus, and it lasts is another thing.

Someone posted upthread or in another thread, that Deanna maybe thumbing her nose at Brad (paraphrase) in the dogged method in which is she making sure she has an F1. Maybe so, maybe not. Only Deanna and her F1 really know in totality what is going on, anything else is only guesswork on our part.

I don't agree with that (not you, the underlined part about another poster), I think Deanna is keeping an open mind and will at least give one guy and her a "chance" at dating in the real world and seeing where it goes. I know that's what I would have done and for the millionth time, I think that's what Brad should have done

So there are two more shows left in the season. Would bet that she says "Brad" at least 5 times a show for a total of 10 more times. That may be a low figure at best.

I don't think I would call it thumbing her nose at Brad, but I do feel she absolutely must at a minimum take on dating one of these guys in real life whether she wants to or not.

We need to remember that there is still a lot of editing to happen, so saying that the editing this season doesn't make sense for a fairy tale ending is a little premature in my opinion. I'm not saying it will end that way, but the editors/producers aren't dumb and, as someone said earlier today, they are here to tell a story. And maybe it is a "Prince charming comes and rescues heartbroken girl" story, but they're not truly looking for stark reality as they are a story to sell. And the fact is, people are suckers for that kind of love story. If they show a huge love story between Jason and De, EVEN ONLY AT THE VERY END, people in general are going to eat it up.

Now, not everyone is going to think it's plausible. But in our society, it has less to do with reality than perception, and the media can make anything look perfect. Let's face it, every single one of us has been influenced by how TPTB put things together, whether it's the sound bites from De or Graham that they put out or whatever. Not one person here really knows the true, real feelings of anyone on this show. And if we got to sit down and talk to these people in private without worry of contracts or publicity or whatever, we'd probably be shocked that what we thought the truth was, was different.

Now, about Jesse. I don't get him, either, but remember that Jesse got one of the first impression roses. SOMETHING made her do that, whether it was forcing her to think outside the box or what. SOMETHING made Jenni really like him. I've thought occasionally, though.....that perhaps both Jenni and Deanna were encouraged to promote him and that they suggested to Deanna that because of his reason to come on the show, that if she wanted to take someone along who would not get his heartbroken, then they'd be thrilled to have it be Jesse for the endorsements. Kind of a seat-filler, as someone to take along if she wanted to be able to let guys go that she didn't want to hurt. But that may be out in left field.

I wouldn't think less of her per se, just that I'd totally misread her. Sorry, but it's a whole different breed of girl that gets attracted to guys like Jesse IMO. Outside of his looks (I don't care for long hair on guys to start but his is just a mess, Seans was at least styled when he first came on the show) his comments about kicking guys in the throat and head and the rest of his juvenile comments and add that to his brown-nosing comments to Deanna's questions I just can't figure out what Deanna would see in him, especially after being attracted to guys like Brad, Graham, Jeremy and Jason. For me it's not that DeAnna taking Jason to the final 2 would harm Ty in any way...it's that keeping his father away when she saw how heartbroken he was when Jason left after the meeting Jason's family date that would be harming to Ty. We saw DeAnna let go of some guys that were wonderful like Fred and keep around guys like Twiley (no disrespect to Twiley). If she didn't have deep feelings or felt she was falling in love (which is mentioned in a VO that specifically states 'falling in love'), she wouldn't have kept Jason.

I'm not sorry for Jason. Apparently he was recruited and guaranteed a certain spot on the show. The fact that DeAnna kept him away from Ty all along, in spite of wanting Graham badly, didn't influence her decisions up to that point. Why would it make a difference to let him go now because of Ty? I don't think having Ty around proves that Jason is F1.
