Re: Basic questions about the show in general

As for unfavorable edits:

QUOTE* Have all of the F1 winners been likeable? Have their edits reflected that? For the most part, yes. However, Helene (S2) had a somewhat unfavorable edit..*

Actually Helene's edit wasn't bad, she was edited like Trista, skeptical of the situation and wanting to leave. Aaron actually wanted to exchange phone numbers so he could call her if she decided to leave.

Sarah Stone was the first F1 to be shown using a curse word on the show. (She called the other girls **tches.

Deanna received the worst edit of the F1's, even though she didn't receive the last rose, she was considered the "winner". She was shown calling the girls **tches, being a bit bossy during her FD with Brad (the toilet seat convo), and taking over the converstation on her 2/1 date.

In the first season, Amanda was edited as "WILD", she and Alex (on their fantasy date) sprayed WHIP CREAM on the camera. She also openly spoke of a boob job to correct uneveness.

So Final 1 doesn't always get a PRISTINE edit, but she ALWAYS gets the developing story line. She's usually hidden during a few episodes and then makes a very clear connection on at least one episode.

To me the most obvious F1's have been Mary and Shayne. The rest of the seasons, the F1 has been a bit hidden.

I don't think he proposed, but he did choose her to see how things would go... but LOL I do believe he "dumped" her before Trista's & Ryan's wedding... They had to show up together though and pretend to still be the happy couple.

(I believe Bob had already met his now wife while doing the Bachelor commentary show. She was the host.)

PLease forgive my multiple posts, I am just answering questions.

There have been a few instances of girls leaving either before the RC or telling the Bach they aren't interested.

Jesse also called the wrong name of a girl and they allowed both the girl he meant to call and the girl he accidentally called to stay.

Re: Basic questions about the show in general

In regards to this question: * Have any of the contestants at any time during any show actually said “no” when asked if they would accept a rose? Or “no” to a proposal?

It seems everyone is forgetting that women were bailing left and right on Jesse Palmer's season. I believe there were 4 or 5 women that refused roses or, as they believed with Mandy from SD, that she had asked to leave but by that point the producers were trying to save face so they had her stay through the ceremony and Jesse did not give her a rose.

I know! Their faces at the dinner table were priceless, after he talked about the miscellaneous lovers he had! LOL!

I wonder if he ever found a wife after the show?!? lol

Re: Basic questions about the show in general

A bachette excused herself before an RC during Firestone's season...

I watched Jesse's season (my first) and totally don't remember anyone rejecting a rose, but I remember him calling out the wrong name on the first night, so he had to be given an additional rose.

Re: Basic questions about the show in general

Bob did not propose to Estella...he gave her the ring as a "promise/let's ee where this will go" ring. They looked semi-happy at Trista and Ryan's wedding, but I think around that time was when he was starting things with Rebecca Budig.

I agree with MOST of what you said, with the exception of Shayne---Shayne got the spotlight, but did NOT get a sparkling edit---yes, she was shown being the peacemaker with the other girls, etc, BUT she was also shown having a major meltdown early on, getting pretty drunk on her 1-1, and Matt was shown calling her "a sandwich short of a picnic"----I don't think she got a classic F1 edit, at all. JMO, of course.

Others that you didn't mentio were Sara B on Charlie's season---she was given a relatively sweet edit, but there was some major doubt and a stroke or two of B*tchiness added in....and Tessa got a relatively nice edit where her relationship with the other girls was concerned, but they completely played up her "hesitation" and made her family look pretty mean and unpleasant. I think TPTB work with the footage they have to create as much drama as possible, and if they have to throw the F1 partially under the bus (anyone got a sandwich they can spare?) they don't hesitate to use it. Again, JMO.
