Behind the Edit **SPOILERS**

I have never been a fan of the edited Deanna. I say edited since I don't know her IRL and so can only draw my conclusions from what I have been shown on TV.

The Bachelor:
1. It's DeAaaahhhna. Ok, I also have a strangely pronounced name and am very familiar with the many innovative ways people come up with as to how to say it and can understand any frustration. Why did Fleiss choose to show us this?
2. Girls can be b!tches. I agree. But why did Fleiss choose to leave this in?
3. The look she and Jenni exchanged when Bettina was sent home at the F3. What was the possible positive outcome from showing this scene?

The B'ette: Why did Fleiss leave these scenes in the episodes and even seem to highlight some of them??
1. The BBQ tantrum.
2. The Graham tantrum at F4.
3. Intro at MTA where CH mentions "lot of respect in the room." (There's more but it's all been discussed in its own thread.)

I am not bashing anyone here (well...maybe Fleiss) but simply can't understand why he would not go out of his way to show Deanna in the best possible light. Why? (I want answers, Fleiss! )

If I were Deanna, I would be unhappy with how I was portrayed.

This may seem like a total conspiracy theory, but I think the real Jesse was shown in most of the episodes (i.e. "I'm totally into you"), but now that we are going in to the FR, I think TPTB has "directed" Jesse's behavior (they think: okay dude, we've allowed all your product placement, etc. now we need this from you in the home stretch). Jesse is along for the ride ... and what a ride it has been!

Even the SC with Jesse on bended knee holding out the ring looks staged (and a cheesy staging at that!)

I think this might be part of the problem that people are having with Jesse. But actually I think his edit has been really good. I think some have been biased while watching after the g/f rumors came out. The edit has shown him fun-loving, getting along with the guys, winning competitions to be with De and laughing a lot with her. His family was great and very sincere - there were even tears at his HTD. I don't remember anything negative - did I miss something?

And no doubt that entire VO before the show started was after filming was complete. So I think it tells a lot about what she wanted, but also about who she chose--the one who knows what he wants, Jason!

I don't think people hate Jesse but the plain fact is he never really showed much interest until 2 shows ago. The whole time Jason has been just been a radiate smiling face every time he saw De and it was shown from way back it was more than just a friend. I am not saying Jesse does not have feelings for De but I don't think they have developed to where Jason's are and for him to propose to her right now just seems out of place. I really think that is the problem. People have been following Jason because it has been there so much longer.

Probably the only way that we could possibly see Ty at the FRC is if he was already there w/ Jason. I believe someone else posted that he'd need a passport and signatures of both parents.

These are two completely different people. Some people want to be friends first, and don't "emote" the same as others. Jason was my second choice (after Jeremy) up until the last couple of episodes, but I like how De and Jesse seem to be so natural around each other. De even mentioned that Jason was always asking her how she was doing and tending to her - IMO he is starting to appear a little smothering. Not that he isn't a great guy, I just think Jesse has great qualities as well - different, but great too.

You know, I was thinking about the edit. If Jesse is the winner, as Cape feels sure he is, this will be the first season I am just bumfuzzled. Every other season I either had a favorite and they were chosen or I didn't really have a preference and just went into the FRC with an open mind. I am very aware of the effect the edit has on me. To me it is part of the fun to allow TPTB to sell me the love story. I cannot believe Fleiss edited his whole show in a way that will alienate and just flat piss off so many of his viewers.

Granted, we have not seen the last episode yet, but there has been nothing thus far to show that she or Jesse are ready to get engaged to each other. I personally won't fall for a new love story that happens in the last episode when I've been seeing a different one growing all season.

I agree with you 100%. I understand relationships grow and you have to have a strong base all all points but I just did not see either one into each other at all really. I had lots of friends like that when I was younger but they stayed friends. De just appeared to really like Jason and I thought they had a strong bond too as he was there for her so many times just to comfort her etc.

ABSOLUTELY!! My thoughts exactly. Why show a love story between two seemingly very compatible people (Jason/DeAnna) with a great rapport, and have her end up with a guy who, altho a nice, fun sort of guy that she likes, she has exhibited no particular affection for (any more so than say Jeremy and actually less).

That's exactly my problem. I'm not reacting as a "disgruntled Jason fan", but ther's been no F1 editing investment in Jesse in my opinion. Bumfuzzled is a very good descriptor.
