2 little edit things that really cemented it for me last night - the music they played while Jason was giving her the present/professing his love... totally different than the music playing w/ Jer or Jes. It reached a crescendo (as Piper expertly pointed out in her recap) and even "pulsed" (like a heart beat??). I was so taken by that I had to rewind/fast forward to compare the music w/ the other 2's professions of love. With Jason's, it was like the editors were screaming at us "PAY ATTENTION, this is IT!"

The other thing isn't so much an edit issue (except they left it in), but I haven't seen anyone else mention it (sorry if it has been covered already). When Jason and De were pulling themselves across in the floating dock, right as they were approaching the far side, Jason asked if they were going to crash/bump into the other dock. When De said yes, Jason placed his hands on her hips to steady her as they docked. It was such a small gesture, but I think it's a perfect reflection of how attentive Jason is to De, and that he could be that person she she can always depend on.

There is something else noteworthy here. Dee said previously that she wants a man who would push back and as an example she mentioned going out. She did not want someone who capitulated and said okay if you dont want to go we won't go(not exact quote)

Even though I am big Jason fan I see this as a red flag. That is exactly who Jason is .. he is a compromiser.

I get your point, but that doesn't mean she wants someone who always pushes back. On the important things - absolutely and I can see Jason doing that! But with small things -like which direction to paddle - nah!

I think that was just a fun moment between 2 people who have never kayaked before. Sort of like straight or turn, crap how do we turn?, let’s just go straight.

I agree. I don't know how many of you have tried paddling one of those kayaks before, but they do not have stop on a dime maneuverability, especially if you have no earthly clue what you're doing. It is an interesting exercise in team work, too! You can basically spin in circles if you don't get the paddling down. I speak from experience, after paddling one through a similar type of mangrove-y area in the Florida Keys with my best friend. Yes, I was so enamored with the sights, I kept forgetting that my friend could not, in fact, see through me and we kept running into things because I'd forget to steer.

I thought that exchange was odd, though, but after rewatching the scene a few times (don't judge me! , I realized Jason was probably trying to avoid the camera crew canoe. They were "heading straight for them". Then it occurred to me that Deanna may have been asked to get this exact camera shot - coming under the bridge/dock - which is why she said to go straight, towards the camera. Just a thought.

Also, that she *giggled* at all is proof that she's different around Jason, IMO. She's much softer and gentler around him than she is with the others...

I noticed this too - that Jason was ready to catch DeAnna if their floating dock crashed.
Did you also notice, by way of comparison, that when Jesse and DeAnna went horsebackriding, Jesse was already on his horse while DeAnna was still standing on the ground? It didn't appear that he thought about helping her get on her horse.
