Deanna will ONLY be a step mother and that will be as good as it gets. I am writing this as a step mother of 25 years to my son! His mother was a derelict.....but she was still his mother. On her deathbed, she was still his mother.

Get my drift??? Does this not bother anyone else??

I don't know anything about the woman, and would want to give her the benefit of a doubt. If she's in Ty's life, I would definitely consider her to be the "mother" and Deanna being in Ty's life as a mother figure would not diminish that in any way.

However, there are (and I have seen) situations when one of the parents is so hands-off, so neglectful of the parental obligations, that one could hardly even call them a parent. My cousin's daughter considers her step-father to be her father--she even uses his last name despite not being formally adopted by him.

Her biological father is in the picture and technically has limited visitation rights, but has done such heinous, irresponsible, neglectful things to her that no one--even his own flesh and blood--considers to him to be a dad.

(Just the other side of the coin)

I happen to think that when the comment was made about Deanna being a good mother to Ty, it was made in a general sort of way: not meaning that Ty's bio mother was anything less because Deanna would be in the picture. I took it to mean that Deanna herself would be a good mother in general and if that was to Ty, then she would do well at that too.

I'm not sure that we are talking about the same thing. I was responding to a poster who wondered why there seemed to be one standard for Jason and another for the other bachelors. And I was saying that some people's unhappiness at their fav not being F1 is likely playing a large part in how they see things. I also added that a lot of people are falling for the edit and are thinking that Graham and DeAnna are starcrossed lovers, when what I see is the producers taking advantage of all the material that Graham gave them in order to create a story that will make things "exciting." While the viewers who don't visit messageboards see things one way, the viewers who do use those sites often have a different perspective. And I remember quite vividly how well the observatory date went over on messageboards and blogs. Even the more cynical bloggers thought Jason had it. Now all of a sudden, we are seeing Graham-mania? I don't think that is a coincidence.

One thing to note is that to date, other than he who must not be named, none of the Most. Shocking. Final. Rose. Ceremony. Ever. has really been such. None of the people have come back. F2 never bi*tch slapped the bachelor. There was no real twist ending with a wedding, flying monkeys, or mud wrestling to determine who gets the rose and ring on a string.

People just have their favs and don't want to believe that the Bach/Bachette picks someone who is good for them, rather than who the general public thinks is good for them.

Amen Meaux, especially to the last part. Believe me, during the Travis season I was in the position of not wanting to believe that my fav (Moana) wasn't F1. I saw the chemistry, ignored the fact that they seemed liked polar opposites in terms of personality and brushed off the sleuthers. It was a lesson learned with regard to watching this show. I just happened to get lucky this season that the guy that I like for DeAnna also happens to be the one towards whom all the clues and screencaps are pointing AND seems to be a great match for her with regard to the important things in a relationship.

Jen and Deanna are not the same, remember how evil Jen was? She made fun of Ryan's family, knowing the producers could air it and hurt thier feelings! grrrrr

I didn't really mean a marriage proposal.. any other kind of proposal because I don't know that F1 (IF that's Jason) will propose to DeAnna and be engaged at the end of all of this and um I don't see a marriage proposal with Jesse either.

Certainly not after her little meltdown when she sends him home. I wish that there were screencaps for the FRC. I really am dying to know without adoubt what goes down. It better be good news for us Jason fans.

I tend to agree with you - but Jason did say in the DTA that he is a big risk taker - and people call him crazy ....
