I believe that Jason and his ex have joint custody, but he is the primary caregiver. Ty lives with Jason, and I think he visits his mom - maybe every other weekend?

Actually in many states (not familiar with Washington), it is a standard prvovision in a divorce decree that the non-custodial parent has to give permission for the child to be moved out of state. If a parent tries to do so without consent, they are in violation of the decree, so in a way it is against the law.

This will be interesting to see how it plays out to say the least!!!

It definitely complicates things, but they can still make it work out.

Hello Newmama! I've been a long time lurker over here and finally signed up so I could post this season too.

I completely agree with you about the ABC board...it's nasty over there.

I swore I wouldn't get hooked again but here I am. I am rooting for Jason and Ty. It speaks volumes to me that we get to know about Ty! Being the mom of two boys who had a deadbeat dad I admire Jason even more! Dee said in five years she'd like to have one child and another on the way.

Not sure if this was mentioned in media threads, but yesterday I read an article that stated Jason was/had been a golf pro in Englewood -- which fit with the scene of him and Ty at the golf range.

ITA with your post. (I cut it down a bit!) IF Jason is F1, it'll be very, very interesting to see what the living arrangement would be as I think it could be a touchy subject. Deanna's family is here while Jason's is there. As for the weather-- like Deanna, I've always thought of Seattle as having lots of rain. And since our winters here in GA are filled with lots of cold rain, I would NOT want to deal with more of it. But, I left my beloved MA to move down here to GA with my DH so it can be done.

Also wanted to point out-- I've worked with LOTS of real estate agents here in ATL. And you know what their favorite pasttime is -- GOLF!! Golf is really, really big down here. I don't know Deanna, but it wouldn't be out of the norm for her to be a golfer. [I also noticed Jason holding a club while he was talking to Twilley.]

I, too, liked the scruffy look on Jason, and I LOVE his wardrobe. There were a couple of t-shirts that I wondered where I could get them for DH.

The only thing that would help him is if she has relinquished her parental rights.
Then I would say he can move anywhere he wants.

Thank you all for the welcome! I'm absolutely amazed by what the sleuthers are able to discern already, and I'm THRILLED that it's been determined that Jason makes it at least to F2!

And if the Washington laws are anything similar to Minnesota, Jason would need permission to move with Ty. My parents divorced when I was 17, and my dad has sole physical custody of my (now) 15 year old sister, but my parents have joint legal custody, so my mom would need to okay it for my dad to move with my sister.

I absolutely agree with the eye contact thing, the fact that Jason looks directly at DeAnna when telling her about his son or even when just talking to her shows to me that he's genuine.

And just for the record: I didn't mean that Jason can take Ty whenever and wherever he wants to go. I'm very aware of the fact that he'd need the mothers permission. All I said is I don't get why he CAN'T move... we don't know his ex, how should we know whether she would or wouldn't give him permission to take Ty to another state?

ETA: There have even been rumors about Jason's ex staying or planning to stay in France for an extended period of time. Not sure if it's true, but IF she leaves the Seattle are, why should Jason have to stay there?

ITA, it's the eye contact and it's his whole demeanor that he's showing he is interested in getting to know DeAnna and wnats her to know about himself. He's not being forceful and tellingher why she should choose him, he's just letting her figure out on her own that he's the right one for her.

They both seem "giddy" nervous around each other, that nervous tension. I can't wait for the first real kiss. I also have never heard the tone in which DeAnna giggles with Jason with anyone else. She's being a bit more flirtatious with him as well.
