See, I don't see this at all. In my mind she let us all see her vulnerability when she stated the remark about at the end the guy would say, "Thanks for the ride." How in the world could we interpret that whole part of the conversation as thinking she is over-confident that all the guys will be in love with her and ready to be F1? What I sensed is that, yes, she is excited and encouraged that the 25 are there for her to start with, but she didn't see any of them as a sure fire done deal.

I think I did not explain my thaught well. What I saw:
1) She was very into Graham on the first night (otherwise why would she have him as the first 1/1?)
2) She is approaching this process with a mindset that the guys are here for her and are already smitten by her, therefore she does not have to work that hard at it, they have.
3) She was scared with Graham because:
a) She might have heard or known something about him that initiated that comment "Thank you for the nice ride" or
b) She realized that Graham "is not in love with her already" (that's the sarcasm part) and if she did open up to him and he did not reciprocate the same feeling, she might get hurt at the end.

I think it hit her for the first time that she might not get what she wants out of the whole process period.

I don't know what that edited picture is where she says that she thinks Graham is falling for her as it doesn't fit in with the rest of what went on, and I think that is part of the rest of an answer to a producer prompt that we don't hear and is taken out of context.

I totally agree that the comment had no place there and it might very well be a comment we might hear again on future dates with other guys.

I think Graham is getting a little bit of Ian's edit (from Meredith's show). I don't think it's going to end the same way but there's something endearing about Graham to me not to mention he's smoking hot. I'm sure there was lots of good stuff from dinner and even afterward that they chose not to show. Also you can be a little shy around someone you like when around them early on even if you're not a shy person. Add in cameras and it's no wonder.

You're right, he is getting the Ian edit and that was the reason why I liked him in the first place. He reminded me so much of Ian. I still think Ian was by far the best suitor on all of the Bachelorettes. He was real, honest and they fell in love. It did not work out, and that's OK. Not all marriages stay marriages let alone all relationships end in one (he was so opposed to the proposal since day one and I think he was pressured into it, and I loved him for his honesty).

The problem she's facing is that a lot of the best things do start out with various kinds of hesitation and your early hunches may not be entirely indicative of what's going to happen down the road. I admire her for trying to be careful, and I think you're right about her worrying that there might be a redo of Brad's ultimate reluctance here. Unfortunately, somebody's reluctance while speed-dating may or may not turn out to be long-term reluctance in real life.

ETA: I also agree with anxieuse above who said that Graham is reminiscent of Ian and that Ian's hallmark was honesty and straightforwardness. And Ian's initial hesitation didn't keep him from going for it and trying, falling in love; in fact, the falling in love was all the more intense because of it. Yeah, that one didn't work out as a long-term marriage, but there would be no guarantee of that with *anyone* you only knew for six weeks before engagement, whether the person had started out reluctant or gung ho.

Unfortunately, as I've said, I think Graham will receive an edit comparing him to HWSNBN. One thing I like about Graham is that he's obviously multi-faceted. Had he been the chosen one, that would have been a point of celebration in the edit (complex person). Because he wasn't, it will be the point of contention (pulled in different directions). That, at least, is the direction I see the edit going in. I'm not convinced that their interactions were "off" or "awkward"--but the editing definitely was.

The PI conducted with De at a later date (appears to be on the FDs) that was spliced into the one-on-one date is being used to set all of that up.

I agree with you..Bama..

I saw nothing awkward about their date..actually I really saw a very serious element by both of them that was very telling....

Had he been the chosen one..people would be celebrating his well thought out,slower paced emotions...and at the end we would have seen a FR that reflected his opening up and expressing his true feelings...

Now we will see the opposite,I suspect..and given the fact that they can edit these story lines any way they desire..we will never see what really occurred between the two..
just like with Jeremy and the others..
I think he is getting a combination of the Ian and the HWSNBN edit actually..

The serious Pi she gives about "not wanting to open up to a guy like Graham and get her heart broken " is the way I think they will go with this one...

Until the FRC, I am still going to hold out hope for Graham. He is uber-hot, adorable, into children's charities, appears honest, somewhat shy, oooooooohhhhhhhhh if I wasn't waaaay too old, and who knows, maybe Fleiss will Fleiss us this time and come totally out of left field!

what i know is that if you are an honest or true person, it can not be hide even if the producers want, graham was very honest, hamble guy, it true that he exceed the shyness part, but we have to understand that it was nerverockin going on the first one on one date and also the fact that there is camera, i mean we find it easy when we watch on the screen but in reality it sooooooo hard to be on their position and put your feelings on the line, iam sure we will see alot of him, he is my favorite and he will stay, his story with dede is very very telling and I love them both
