Re: Sad news to report about a fellow site member.
I am just so shocked and saddened by this news...I actually came to the DWTS thread today to see what sdl had to say about Jake's behavior last night. I couldn't wait to get his take because I love reading his posts and getting his insight. I have been on vacation for a few weeks and hadn't kept up much with FORT. I noticed neither Peacheater, another favorite, nor sdl had posted lately, so after doing some searching, I found this thread...
I cannot believe how shaken up I feel. Like others, I have shed tears and just felt heartbroken today. Even though I mainly lurk, out of shyness I guess, I feel like I "know" so many of you although you don't know me. sdl did not know me...but he just shared so much of himself through his contributions to these forums that I feel like I knew him and I feel like I lost a friend. I had kind of wondered if this was somehow really weird of me that I would feel like this, but after reading all the other posts, I see that it is not. Other "lurkers" just like me feel the same.
God bless his family and give them comfort. Rest in peace sdl. You will be missed.
Peacheater, and all other friends of sdl, my condolences go out to you also.

Beautifully written! I think you summed it up better than I ever could.
Re: Sad news to report about a fellow site member.
This is horrible news. We had some interesting exchanges, especially when we didn't see eye to eye. He was one of the posters who made discussions lively and interesting. I am saddened and send my condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P.

To sdl's family, if you are reading this, I am so sorry for your terrible loss.

these are the most excellent descriptors of sdl. When my grandma died, my cousins and I all thought we were her favorite...such a gift to make all feel special. Sdl had that gift as well.
RIP my friend.
Re: Sad news to report about a fellow site member.
SDL's passing is such a huge loss to all of us here! I can't help but think of those that knew him and interacted with him in his real life. If he could touch us all so deeply through written word, just image the loss that his family and friends must feel. So very sad!

Re: Sad news to report about a fellow site member.
Godspeed, dearest Scott. You were not only loved, but you were very much appreciated by many of your friends here.
I will miss your humor, your sharp wit, and most of all your loving, caring and huge heart. Getting to know you in the past couple of years has been a blessing.
My prayers and thoughts go out to Scott's family, his fellow friends here at Fort, and to those of us mourning the loss of a wonderful man.
Thank you to Peacmar for sharing his post with us.
Thank you to Peacheater for sharing your wonderful memories of your friendship with Scott.
And most of all thank you to the Mods for giving us a place to not only remember our dear friend Scott, but to celebrate the joy he added to many of our lives.

This is beauiful.
Reading the board is just not the same. I keep waiting for a post from Scott to pop up, hard knowing that will never happen. I miss you Scott.
Re: Sad news to report about a fellow site member.
I just got back on here and I am very saddened by the news. I always looked forward to reading his posts. It will not be the same around here without him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his friends.
Scott, go rest high on the mountain.
Re: Sad news to report about a fellow site member.
Wow! I haven't been on Fort as much lately and I just read this horrible news. Although I didn't have a friendship with sdl, his posts were the first ones I would seek out in the Bachelor/Bachelorette threads. My deep sympathies go out to all of the posters here who knew him and loved him. I can tell what a wonderful man he was by how many of us have come here to share stories and leave a post of respect for him. What a terrible loss.
Rest In Peace, sdl. :biglove
