And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know ~ Kansas
How sad is this news? I never exchanged any PMs with him, but I really enjoyed reading his posts. I shared many of them with a friend who isn't on FORT. When I mentioned SDL, she knew who I meant.
Rest in peace, SDL. What a loss it is to this board. What a huge loss it must be to those who knew you personally.
You really hit the nail on the head!! He made each of us feel uniquely special.Originally Posted by onlyme;3869791;

Although I only knew sdl through his posts, it's amazing how much sadness can be felt about someone I didn't really "know". But, then again, we *can* really know someone through their posts.
It really is a big mystery to me, and I wonder if they (and he) actually do look in on us and see the many, many people who care about him. I like to believe that they can, and do.![]()
Thank you to whomever sent condolences to his family.
I "knew" someone on another board that also passed away, and there was a similar thread for them. Someone very close to them printed all the replies and gave them to a family member who later did come in and post occasionally. They were very touched by the caring, and really appreciated it.
The Bachelor/Bachelorette series is a soap opera with unskilled actors, bad writing, and beautiful locations...it even edits the real moon!
When I first found this site I made a list of "must read posters" and SDL was at the top. Although I didn't know him outside of this board I am deeply saddened by his passing. My condolences to his family, friends and fellow posters.
R.I.P Scooter - you'll be missed.

SDL was my one and only friend request. I accepted but never heard back from him, which I thought was strange. Now I know why. When I logged on today and saw the news I was so so sad. It felt like losing someone who you truly cared about. I enjoyed reading his snippets that showed his wit and humor. He is the main reason I have stayed here at FORT. WOW! Words just can not describe how I feel right now. RIP SDL. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends and to all of his FORT friends too.
R.i.p Sdl.

What sad news.... thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends...
I want to thank the moderators who started this thread.
I've been logging on several times a day these past few weeks looking for Scott's posts.
As soon as I saw the title of this thread my heart sank. This is just so sad.
As outspoken as he was, I always seem to land on the same side of the fence with him (go figure!) and our PM's were a source of pride for me....
My heart goes out for his loved ones and to all of us who will miss him.
