Re: Chris L - no spoilers

I wanted to add that Chris stated that he had noticed Ali always staring at Roberto in Portugal. I really think the other guys picked up on Ali's attraction to Roberto. I am not saying he wasn't hurt by the process but I don't think it was a total shock. I also noticed that at dinner on the FD with Chris - Ali asked him if he had one thing to change about the experience what would it be. Chris wished that she had had more time with his family - which I thought was a strange answer. If you were really falling for the person - wouldn't you have said I wish we could have had more time alone ? But perhaps they were not permitted to say tha because it is a filmed experience. And I know how important his family is to him. She also thanked him (whispering) for doing the show and hoped it had been fun. He answered that oh yes, he had had a great time - and then switched into talking about being forever with her. I noticed that Jason asked Melissa the same kind of thing - are you glad you did this. (She was the eventual F2). I can't recall speciifcs of the past shows but I know I have heard that question asked often of the F2. And the Bach or Bachelorette has got to be grateful for the F2 to go along witht he whole show and experience the rejection in the end. I just think the way the question was asked led me to believe that the F2 people are in on this.

Not that it really means anything in the long run... but this was an obvious edit cut. Her mouth is full when she asks the question, and then she is sipping languorously on her drink when he answers. If you look closely at that whole conversation between them, you can see the edit cuts, and hear them.

The second bolded part above... Ali did not thank him for doing the show and say it was fun (whispered)... what she did whisper was "you're cute" kissed him then said "I had a really fun day today, thank you" and Chris whispered back "so did I. I had more than fun... it was amazing." She then kissed him twice more before he said the "I can see myself with you forever, you know that right?" and she answered back with the "Really?" and he gave her the three Really's and the kisses following each one.

In this particular instance, I don't believe that Chris had any inclination of what was going down, as a matter of fact at this particular point in the show, it was "apparent" by edit he was f1.

ITA, Latergator. I know we have a poster saying that "everyone" knew that Ali was in love with Roberto from the start but I think it's revisionist history perhaps to cover up that Frank was possibly going to be f1 and Robert f2.

I was glad she let him go F2 as well. CL should have that written into his contract. Let F2 go early and have FRC all about the F1. I wish they'd done this since the beginning.
I agree but it's not the first time it's happened, ChelsieFan. Charlie chose to tell Krisily she wasn't picked before she came out to the FRC. I get the feeling this time that Ali may have wanted to spare Chris but I also think she wanted to spare herself from having to do another date with the guy she wasn't picking. Unfortunately I think Fleiss likes the drama when we're waiting to see who will be in that first limo so doubt it will be a regular thing. I always hate how they focus so much time on the person who's f2 and the aftermath while only about 5-10 mins on the couple.

Frank was her planned F2. He represented all her ex-boyfriends who broke her heart and rejecting him at F2 and choosing Roberto would have been a compelling story. She HAS to take someone to F2 and they're making a tv show, they wanted to tell a story. So yes, it would have sucked for Frank if he loved her, but it had to be somebody! Chris would have avoided the heartache of meeting Ali's family and falling more in love with her but Frankie bailed (because he knew Ali wouldn't choose him AND he didn't want to lose Nicole too) and stuck Chris with the job. Thankfully Ali dug in her heels and refused to put Chris through the LCD and the FRC and he deeply appreciates it.

She explains in her blog that she was so upset because Frank leaving for an ex-girlfriend was on the heels of Justin leaving for an ex-girlfriend and she wondered who was next? Her biggest fear was that Roberto was "too good to be true" and he wouldn't love her back or he'd leave too. She was crushed, she thought it looked like the process wasn't going to work for her. It also dredged up the hurt of a past relationship where a guy she cared a lot about dumped her and returned to his ex-girlfriend.

Ali kept a journal during filming (this is the story of how I met my husband) and she wrote throughout the process that Frank was not the one, she knew he'd hurt her. Roberto has no doubt he was her F1, from the first impression rose to the final rose. She said in the first episode she gave the FIR to the man she thought she'd be with in the end, and she was right.

This show is so scripted. I can't even believe I watched as much of it as I did. It was a complete waste of
my time and I must make a sincere vow to myself to not watch anymore. Ugh, it has so changed from
the first season and I wish there could be a 180 degree turn.

So, no twitters about Chris L being out and about? Now he wants to fade into the background? Just kidding. I hope we get more next week!

Then, why did Ali say she could see herself spend the rest of her life with Frank after getting dumped? Why even bother with the hissy fit if Roberto is her no. 1?

I think that was taken from a response she gave during a conversation about the ex-boyfriend she followed to San Francisco. (I think he's the one who cheated on her with her roommate but I am not positive.)

She said it (while sobbing away) when she was bawling and bawling about Frank in Tahiti.

Again, I just see a huge contrast of classiness between the way CL handled his break up and the way Ali handled her break-up with Frank.

Why did Andy tell Bevin her loved her on their last chance date when everyone and their brother knew Tessa was the one he wanted all along? They all say things they don't necessarily mean, and we all know most of that is prompted by producer's questions. The difference with Andy and Bevin is he didn't have a producer there prompting him. He said that on his own.
