It's only been 3 weeks. I'm more than willing to give it more time. Besides, I'm watching the whole season no matter what. I love this stupid show and I love trying to figure out who is the F1 by just watching the show and no other clues. .

I admire your fortitude! I will still watch no matter what, but, I have learned so much about how this show works and is edited that I just can't do it unspoiled. I do have to say that as result of learning editing tricks it has helped me pick winners or the top contenders in some of the other reality shows I watch. I will be curious to see next season...who they pick and how much I enjoy it. If it is Des and her season or it's just me getting tired of the show.

It does seem a lot longer than three weeks .

Buck up folks! This season is as good as any other. It's always slow in the beginning. When she's down to the final 6 or 8 and individual personalities are shining through I think it'll be lots of fun. Des is a funloving gal and I expect to be fully engaged in her final pairing.

There's never been a season that I didn't enjoy and watch all the way through. Even Jake the Fake. That season had some of the best snarkers from Snarkville here posting. I miss that. Every season offers something -- sometimes a snarkfest, sometimes eye candy, sometimes just travel porn, and sometimes (but exceedingly rarely) believable romance.

What can I say, I must be the Queen of Lowered Expectations or something, but I'm hooked. There's always something worth watching on this trainwreck of a show.

Only time will tell with that.
Not true - Jenn Shefft didn't pick anyone at the end of her season either. Charlie O'Connell didn't either really. He asked for an extra 3 months I believe it was to figure it out in real life away from the camera's. So it has been done before, and could be done again.... Although I don't believe that will be the case with Des.

Charlie did pick someone though, even if he decided later. As for Jen, I say she chose Jerry even though she later rejected him. But my main point still stands, the no pick hasn't been done since brad 1.0 and I don't think it's happening again even if that's what the lead wants to do.

But that's just not true... Jen did not pick anyone at the end. She did not accept a proposal, so it HAS been done other than Brad. It's just fact, regardless of what you might believe, it's listed as she picked no one in the Bachelor/ette stats. As for what may or may not happen with future leads, that's anyone's guess. Since it has been done in the past by both a female and a male lead now, I don't see why it couldn't happen again. Charlie broke the rules as well by not picking anyone at the end of the normal run as well. Just look at what happened with Jason/Melissa/Molly as well. The leads do have control over their future. Regardless, I think Des will end up happily engaged at the end of the season. I hope so anyway

Oh, the infamous FRC re-do in Jen's season continues to haunt. He did get down on one knee and was accepted...weeks later they re-shot without the proposal when she had second thoughts. At the ATFR Jerry confirmed it was behind the scenes dirty when he gave her the finger upside his nose. That finger was analyzed to death...the FRC was analyzed to death looking for camera cuts frame by frame. In the end, she decided to choose no one, but it was behind the curtain.

Brad is the first one TPTB allowed to be public about his no choice at the FRC. However, they did want to do a screen roll ending of him eating a hoagie while watching the show. They didn't, but everyone heard about it and it and Brad have done it to death since.

Others didn't want to make a choice, but were pressured at the end by TPTB. PLo, the joke, slid through with a young'un from Florida; The football player offered airline tickets and didn't follow through; Travis offered a ring on a string to a hometown girl and didn't follow through. Deanna chose just to get through the season, but that played out a couple of months. Others played it for a few months or longer without making a stronger commitment.

It's a dating show where the strings are more visible now and the curtain cracked open just a tad.

    Fanny!

ilja, you get the Best Smiley 2013 Award! I love those heart balloons!

I'm going to watch tonight but if things play out like they have been, for the first time ever, I am going to get spoiled. As sweet as Des is, she's not into the acting end of this show. I get the sense that she's saying to herself, "Oh come on, you want me to say that? That's so lame! No one is going to buy this!" It's not her fault, the producers are just running the same scenarios to death, that's all.

I can't justify thinking about this show all summer long like I have in the past. You'd put me in a sanitarium if you knew the half of it. And recently I found myself feeling mad that Catherine and Sean have backed off on their plan to have a summer wedding. As if I've been scammed! Nobody scams me! Now how crazy is that? Someone call the medics.
