We've talked about it is basically a competition. We have said that the Bach/ette leads on the contenders. We have said that they are in a bubble, "in the moment", that there's no way they can possibly know the person, let alone truly "love" the person in 6 weeks, and we even talked about the fact that inside info told us that the married Fleiss made out with some of the bachettes at the WTA.

Yet, although we have talked about all of this stuff - some of it many times, when we hear it said right out on tv, we are affronted! Y'all this is old news. It is good to hear it actually confirmed,but it is not anything new. Ok, we had to read between the lines with Fleiss last night, but that wasn't very hard, was it??

Now, we wanted hardhitting, and we got it on some of the segments. Certainly, the segment on Byron and Mary was hardhitting enough. He almost tried to play down 5 years of a relationship, and it was obvious she won't be over it for a long, long time.

The segment with Melissa was brutally honest as well. She gave the average viewer insight that at times did not make her look well, but it gave a very good overall picture of what happened in that situation. How do contestants get "caught up" in the whole experience? How and why do they vie for someone that would not interest them otherwise? How did that whole thing really come down? What was her actual relationship with Ty - which has been the conjecture of so many? Finally, how does Melissa really feel about it now?
It was at times a brutally frank and honest interview that I think answered the questions that many had.

I agree with all of this. I think for the most part that those here on FORT who still like Melissa saw that interview differently than the Jason and Molly fans did. It seemed like Melissa wanted to "cleanse" herself of any remaining Bachelor residual now that a sufficient time has passed and both she and Jason have moved on with their lives.

Melissa's brutal honestly is probably how 95% of past contestants felt once they left that show and went back to the real world. What is that old saying? The truth sometimes hurts. I was not offended by what Melissa said because, like you, it did not come as a surprise to me. She just confimed what we already knew. Both she and Jason were used by TPTB for ratings, ratings, ratings. They out and out lied to Melissa and made Jason look like a jerk in the process - all for the mighty dollar.

hopefully MF can get his hands on the footage and use it for a "Where are They Now" - 5 hrs of footage and we got nada - man we really did get ripped off. I was going to rewatch it since I taped it, but there really is no need. Shame - I was hoping for better material, not a recrap of every season with only a few appearances of past leads/contestants. How on earth did PLo's Erica not make the show???

So, imagine yourselves as TV or magazine reporters, and your assignment is to interview a past Bachelor contestant. You can choose anyone from any season. Who would that be and what would you ask (assuming the contestant either wasn't on the 20/20 special or he/she didn't answer the questions you had)? Keep in mind, the contestant MUST answer you honestly.

I think I'd ask Jake if he was urged to keep Michelle on for just a few extra episodes by the producers. When he gave her the last and final rose in one of the rose ceremonies, I swear it looked as if he was trying not to gag. I rewound that a couple of times just to watch the look on his face. He looked very uncomfortable, almost as if he was resigning himself to handing out the rose because he was being forced to by the producers.

LMAO that is too funny & so true. They wasted WAY too much time on Jake & Vienna. Their season just ended for god's sake - we already know what they're doing........

Really? That stinks. They could have left out ALL of the JAKE and VIENNA clips and put in some of Kip's five hours. It makes you wonder who or what else got left on the cutting room floor.

I agree it stinks -- however, I'm betting on the fact that they put so much of Jake and Vienna in both the 20/20 and Molly and Jason's wedding is because ABC subconsciously was promoting DWTS on both 20/20 and the wedding. Why else would they have the finale/AFRC on one Monday, the wedding the next Monday, 20/20 the next, and then DWTS this Monday. Makes sense to me from a PR standpoint.

I wouldn't read much into the bartender gig.

Before and after Natalie filmed the B13, she was in HR and, as I remember, working for The Limited.

The sudden economic downturn probably had something to do with Natalie's employment situation, as it has for so many recent college grads ... unemployment of those 20 something (with 4 year degrees) is twice that of 30 something and no clue of underemployment rates ...

Bachelor 14 had, what ... 3 unemployed/underemployed contestants --- that we know of? I'd say, sign of the times ...

Would you really believe Estelle, a woman who takes his hand and put it on her breast, while meeting him for the first time. Then he gives her the final rose and she still doesn't sleep with him. hmmm.

Which I still think was a set up to get Jenny along with 15 ladies in. It seem so fake to me, Chris was busting a gut to keep from laughing. It was Jesse that asked her to stay and she didn't leave the next RC it was after.

I don't think it was a set up... I think Jesse just was not good at remembering names. I read somewhere (a couple of seasons back) CH said that Rose ceremony's take a long time. The Bachelors remember a handful of names... take a break, read from their list... then go back and call a handful more names. But Jesse just couldn't remember the list and they had to do it 1 or 2 names at a time...
