Re: Jason and Molly's wedding
I honestly can't imagine being angry or embarrassed by such a situation. It's just a fancy party. In the big scheme of things it really isn't important - the marriage is. If they're laughing at the whole turn of events (which I would be doing in the same circumstances), then they have my respect.

Although I am not really a fan of the couple, the fact that they seem okay with how ABC manipulated/humiliated them (is this better or worse than Ryan and the stripper?) perhaps means that right now, they are more wrapped up in the marriage than they were in the wedding, which is how it should be, and actually makes me respect them more. Maybe in time, they will start feeling more ticked off at ABC's stunt for ratings, not that they'll be able to sound off about it, most probably, due to the contract they signed.
The wedding day was like their "journey" to get there ?
With all the talk of their pain and hurt in getting there but they got there anyway ( love conquers all) ... maybe the whole set-up was to show them weathering an actual storm on their wedding day ... demonstrating that love conquers all.
Molly also talked about the support of all their family and friends that helped them through their pain ... and now all their family and friends helped by sitting in the rain.
BTW .... I still get my analogies metaphors and similes tied in a knot :)
Re: Jason and Molly's wedding
Analogies are all well and good, but ABC wasn't thinking to themselves, "Hey, maybe we'll get lucky and it will rain during the wedding ceremony, and we can use that as symbolism to show how Molly and Jason "weathered" the storm and that "love conquers all." They managed to capture a shot of a rainbow from earlier in the day, too, which they showed ad nauseum throughout the show, yet another suggestive symbol of how M&J survived the media storm.
I think Ironcat hit the nail on the head and said exactly what I was trying to say (but couldn't): They dressed them up, then threw a pie in their faces. There was absolutely no excuse or logical reason to allow a bride to stand in the pouring rain and howling wind like that! At the very LEAST, they could have put a tarp over their heads -- they should have done that anyway, since if it was sunny it would have provided much better lighting for the cameras.
ABC resisted suggestions to move the wedding indoors, so they knew rain was imminent and probable. Knowing this, why wouldn't they provide at least a tarp for the wedding party? Molly and Jason made lemonade out of lemons, but I still feel as though ABC managed to twist every last drop of drama out of this couple, right up to their wedding day. They'll look back on their wedding day over the years and laugh, I'm sure, and hopefully they won't think about it too hard -- if they do, they may eventually realize they were once again mere pawns in a rating game.

Yeah it's going to be something they won't ever forget!! :) They can even show their kids a video of it. :)

They have "gone through" so much - that is their storyline - from Jason's season through to their ABC wedding day. The rainbow is symbolic of their love, their bond, the silver lining, the future. ABC obviously wanted the soaking wet bride and groom, and probably hoped Molly would get overly emotional and have a meltdown. But. . . she did not. In this, Molly and Jason shine -- they show their true character and endurance. As a mom of four married for 10 years, I see a bright future for Molly and Jason if they keep up this positive attitude and their strong bond of friendship and support. They have earned their happiness and they have turned an embarrassing and painful situation into something beautiful. (Not the wedding, the whole ATFR fiasco). Rain will come into all or our lives -- how we handle it makes all the difference. . . Some will smile in the rain and hold their heads up high. Others will complain and cry and grow bitter. . . It's a choice we all make all the time. . .
Your whole description above is right on the money! I think that the rain, and the timely rainbow made their wedding truly unique. Molly and Jason did shine. They glowed with happiness, and it was contagious.

Woooo HOOO WELL SAID. I too applaude how they handled everything. You could just feel the love. I believe they are so strong and if they can remain that way will be a lesson for so many that only wish they had a relationship like that.

Never cared for Molly and Jason before, but I did feel sorry for them standing in the pouring rain and can now see that they were meant for each other. I also thought that they did make lemonade out of the lemons thrown at them by Fleiss. If they were truly were forced out into the rain, it reminds me of the little "dig" producers gave them at the ATFR - instead of a nice trip, they got a tent.
And the same shot of the rainbow over and over again, reminded me of the fake moon shots that they used in Jason's season - over and over again...
I wish them much happiness!
Re: Jason and Molly's wedding
i was just happy abc didn't throw a stripper at jason like they did ryan. i remember how wrong i thought it was for them to do that. a move by fleiss that i thought was completely uncalled for.
jason and molly just seemed so happy. the rain didn't seem to affect them at all and i thought that was great. the way they look at each other says it all. they have something special.
Re: Jason and Molly's wedding
Did Fleiss also send them on a honeymoon?

i'm guessing abc and fleiss pay for the honeymoons. trista and ryan went to fiji and i heard jason and molly are going to south africa next week for theirs.
