Absolutely. From the start bachelor/ettes have been made to be more than they are. For example, Charlie on Trista's season was gorgeous, but he didn't have a job; a gorgeous guy on Meredith's season didn't have a job and lived at home with his mother; Jen's competition (I can't remember her name) was said to be a host for an online shopping channel, in reality she worked the telephone lines; the list goes on and on.

LOVE IT! MF must have his knickers in a knot -- somebody with integrity almost slipped through onto his set.

I also appreciated Jake's latest interview, posted by LibbyBell in the 'Media, no comment' thread where he says "I know that they're making a show that ultimately doesn't have anything to do with my goals". That's a pretty bold statement for our malleable friend Jake to make. Of course, then he goes on with the requisite cheese about finding true love . . .

Fun read, but just another sad confirmation how controlled this show is. What we ultimately wind up watching in each new installment of this series is increasingly scripted to the point where it's classification of a " reality show" is more and more questionable. Sure there are real emotions involved, SOMEWHERE, in this show as it progresses, but it is increasingly apparent that Fleiss and co. are picking bachelorettes, scripting how each acts and speaks, and possibly influencing who can move forward and who can't. Come January, watching this season should be approached in the same mind as Desperate Housewives, a scripted "dramedy." They can even have CH do the week voiceover narration.

Now, please, when we get way into the show, and I say from an editing standpoint that so and so ( even darling Reid,,,oh!) is saying a line that has been used (identically or almost identically) from other seasons ( and often by a person in the same final position) people just might believe me....maybe.....

I believe it, Bloomers, always have. They just go to their vault and dust off whichever stale old line has been used so many times before and try to pass it off as authentic and new.

We should start a game, since we don't have the Rose Ceremony game anymore. Sort of a match game scenario where we match up the contestant to the recycled line, and for bonus points pinpoint exactly when it will be (re)heard. We need a good prize. Maybe a fab trip to the FD location. Whaddya think? Any takers?

Alexxxxx, I was pleasantly surprised by his statement as well. It made me think that he might be in it for more than just the 15 minutes. He might give us a good show after all!

They have very little contact 1:1 (almost none) without producers present and cameras rolling, so my principal skepticism about the franchise arises from that formatting challenge. Exactly WHEN are they supposed to form an authentic impression of one another's character, etc.? I think attraction, spark of romance can develop for sure during filming adventure as in any setting. But "love" can only develop -- if ever -- after the show wraps IMO...except between staffers. They seem to fall in love, marry, procreate with one another during filming without any problem, judging from the number of couples.
