I do believe that he is sincere in finding someone to share his life with, and I hope at the end of his season he has found someone who takes his breath away. Trista was sincere and true to herself on her show, and I believe that Jason will be the same way. IMO of course.

Great opinion tho - and I do agree with you - certainly not perfect - but awesome at the same time

I dont believe that he really thinks he'll find a long term partner during this process. He doesnt seem Hollywood bound. It makes little sense to me.

I guess that there are not many men who would turn down the chance to have a horde of pretty women desperate to date them.
I'm not sure that the "fame" is not more of an incentive for him than anything else. Maybe he even has career aspirations that would benefit from the added screen time.

First of all nobody knows the scenerio of the show this time , it may revolve around seattle while Jason could still have time with his son .Chris Harrison even said that there was a great possiblity they would film in Seattle.
Secondly Jason will not be introducing Ty to 4 different ladies he only takes the final 2 to his Hometown so he will only be introducing him to the F2 ladies and i am sure if it was going to leave a devastating mark on his son he would not be doing the show.
Third, I believe Jason is the only one in a long long time that is seriously in this for the right reason's and actually looking for some one to complete his family..

There has been NO indication anywhere - of any kind - that this could be the case - Jason is the first bach in a long long time that has indicated his reasons as being the right kind of reasons to be doing this.

I would give TPTB and CH the benefit of the doubt that Jason and his son will not be seperated for long periods like the last time - and have/are working out the details to make this a possibility.

I am sure willing to give Jason the benefit of any doubt that he has fit his contract to fit his needs - and for his son's as well.

See, I don't really get this. I've watched this cheesy show for years, much to Mr. Sweetpea's disgust, and I hear the same reason for being on the show from ALL of the bachelors (well, maybe we'll give Charlie a pass here). They are looking for true love, they want to settle down with the right girl, they are looking to start the next phase of their life, blah blah blah. Jason has said those things, and so have pretty much every bachelor that has come before him, including Blob. So forgive me for being obtuse but why should I believe Jason is the first bachelor in a long time who is going into this for the right reasons??

I guess I will clarify my comment regarding the post that I originally posted to - there is NO indication that Jason is doing this for any reason other than to meet a gal - maybe even fall in love - there is nothing in his history that indicates anything other than that - no aspirations to further a career (in the industry) - no aspirations to increase any exposure (for the industry) - he has absolutely no background/aspirations in acting - modeling - theatre, etc....... no business that he is wanting to promote/exposure for (supposedly Brad ) - nothing but what he has shown the public already - wanting someone to complete his family - JMHO

ITA - In addition, he has made very little of the fame he already has. Other than a few local radio interviews he has done, attending a local baseball team's game, and posting weekly comments to his MySpace (since stopped when it was announced he would be on the next show) he has done nothing for fame or publicity - he has simply gone back to his job and his family. So far, his actions have backed up his words.

Re: Jason's the next Bachelor!

Sometimes I feel that people want to make him guilty of an alterior motive (ex. persuing a film career, fame) without any evidence pointing to this. I say innocent until proven guilty. He seems like a real stand-up guy... he has a son to consider... and I truly believe that he wants someone in his life. Will he find that person here? Nobody can answer that! Is it worth the try??... heck, why not!? What has he got to lose? His reputation due to editing?? They can only show what he gives them! And who cares really, because at the end of the day, he is going to go on with his life, and not give a hoot what we think about him (which is what I would do!)... he will be with or without someone special he met on the show, with another life experience, with some extra cash... and who can blame him! Not me! Worst-case scenario, he puts money away for Ty.

I will be rooting for the best case scenario!

Personally, I think it's only natural to question the motivation of anyone that goes on The Bachelor or Bachelorette. Every single person, from one of the first night rejectee's to the "star". Giving up 6-8 weeks of your life, opening yourself up to scrutiny, opening your family up to scrutiny, that's no joke and while some go on with the purest of intentions, others may have intentions that tend toward fame or exposure or what not. I've always said "good for them". I tune in to be entertained and with the exception of a couple of seasons I have been (PLO, Travis, yuck). The funny thing is of the 3 Bachelor or Bachelorette couples still together all 3 "stars" were suspected by some to be going on for exposure.

As far as Jason is concerned he is starting off very well liked, and he seems like quite a man. My question with him is like many others have stated, as a single father how can he leave his son purely for a chance at love? And yes, even if they film in Seattle or have Ty down in LA, his time with Ty will be severely limited. On a traditional filming schedule the star rarely gets any downtime and if this schedule is sped up like is rumored, I can only imagine that the time spent with Ty will be almost non existent. He may really be such a romantic that he thinks that his fate was to get called to DeAnna's season the same day that he ran into Bevin, then get his heart broken on national television, all for him to find his soulmate via ABC. I hope they are paying him well, and he can set up his life with Ty comfortably.

On a separate note, does anyone know if they are using Kassting, Inc. for casting this season? on the application website I notice no mention of Kassting and the mailing address is an address in Toluca Lake, not the LA address of Kassting. Just curious, because it may give us a different type of cast than the past few iterations. I just hope they are reaching a lot further than women that have posted on Jason's MySpace.

ETA: I'm always rooting for the best case scenario too wickedfan!
