Re: New Bachelor announced!!

It'll be interesting to see how Ty fits into the show. Should be a fun ride. With the Bachelor(ette) record, this is a huge risk by Jason and I hope it works out.

I am sure it will be a great season and I bet Jason takes an active part in the selection process - Congratulations!!!! We have a great Bachelor 13, a man of integrity, compassion and sincerely hoping for a match. I wish him the best!

Re: Bachelor 13 **SPOILERS**

I have very mixed feelings about this

This news reached me this afternoon, not by media release, but by tell-a-friend I am sure Jason was thrilled and I really do wish him good luck in his second try - as I think he is going to need it. I don't think that the producers are the best at judging who might make a good match. I am also sure that they are salivating to exploit Ty in any manner they can for viewership. I just hope that they are all ready to deal - through the grueling schedule and long hours - with a four year old who doesn't conform to other's schedule. I hope that Jason has negotiated a contract that will provide a college education for his son or pay off his house (like every other Bachelor) and that he has some safeguards in there to protect his son and his own reputation. I think he has no clue how people are going to rip him apart in the coming weeks and that the adoration he is receiving now will be sorely tested.

I wonder if they are going to use the strange schedule to insure that things work out for Jason. He really does seem to be sincere in his search for a love interest. I hope he is not also bitten by the "celebrity" bug and illusions of having a child "star" in the family. If they are filming in mid October, they should be through before Thanksgiving. Usually they do not wait 4 to 5 weeks to begin viewing, but perhaps they will pull a Charlie on this one or give the final 2 or 3 some time before the FRC.

Maybe they wil just go full bore and everything will work out I just see so many possible pot holes along the way - you can never trust a child that age to perform as you want them to. I don't understand why this is a good venue for a single dad supposedly devoted to raising his child and I hope this dedicated dad really is putting his child's welfare as a priority. He will need to hold strong for himself and his child with the producers.

I wish them both luck - Jason and the producers - because I think they are going to have their hands full. I hope that all works out for the very best for all concerned.

Let's also hope that they spend more time showing us what makes Jason a great guy and less time "force-feeding" us that we should like him just because he got his heart broken. I don't think they did DeAnna's "character" justice during her season because they only focused on her a a dumpee IMO. TPTB need to convince us that Jason is a great catch because of who he is... Not because he's "heartbroken" or even because he has a cute son.

I think it will be like Charlies season and they take it to real life.

Re: Bachelor 13 **SPOILERS**

I saw all the reasons why Jason was not a good match for Deanna - regardless of his feelings for her. None of those things have changed for the next go round.
Jason is not going to move from Seattle - someone HAS to be willing to move there. Seattle is a wonderful city; I hope they film there so we can really see him living where he lives - rain, cold, damp, gray - exquisit mountains and rugged oceans, eclectic city and unmatched waterways! Jason has a ready made family and no matter what, a child is always front and center - no prima donas who need to be the center of the universe. Jet setting with a child is not quite as glamorous as doing is as a free-and-easy couple. Jason is a nine to five insurance salesman. I suspect he has a great job, but it is not terribly exciting. This is no frivolous bachman free to change his life for a whim. This is a man with responsibilities with strong family ties who lives in a place he loves.

Truly - I hope they show is what makes him so special and also what makes someone want to share his life. Because this season seems a bit heavier and the stakes higher. Hopefully they will make him unique for himself and not a retread.

I don't want to see the guy who got dumped by the girl who got dumped by Brad Enough already!

Re: Bachelor 13 **SPOILERS**

What I wonder is will they show footage of Jason actually proposing to DeAnna as a promo to his season? They replayed Brad's rejection over and over. Maybe, finally, we will get to see what Jason said happened, but got edited out!!!

Re: Bachelor 13 **SPOILERS**

I wonder too Valentine, but hopefully after the first night we won't have to watch any of that again I want to see Jason as if we had never met him before. I want to see why he is interesting.

Re: Bachelor 13 **SPOILERS**

Here is my dilemma.....

As the mother of a single father who just married last Fall, I'm all about single fathers finding love ~ yet if my son had proposed to someone he had only know for 6 weeks (let alone while he was dating a dozen others), I would have been crazed!! Take a chance with his life, but not with the lives of my grandchildren!

As a grandmother, I simply cannot get behind Jason proposing at the end of this show, yet I watch the show for precisely that reason ~ to see some prince charming sweep a lovely lady off her feet ~ so, what do I do now?? Hope for a ring on a string?

Like Jelle, as much as I like Jason (check my post from the beginning of last season and you'll see I picked Jason & Jeremy from day one), I do have mixed emotions about him being the next bachelor.

And, like BabyfaceC, I hope they show is something other than "broken hearted" Jason ~ been there, done that, and bought the DeAnna t-shirt.

Oh well, let the sleuthing begin.............
