Re: Bachelor 13 **SPOILERS**

Selecting the potential cast takes months, and says little or nothing IMO about (a) who will be bachelor or (b) whether ABC will in fact greenlight it for production (filming) in mid October.

Has anyone seen job postings or Myspace/Facebook evidence that producers are staffing up for Bach 13 (as opposed casting contestant)s?

An appealing (to ABC) choice of bachelor is the prerequisite to any bach 13 season at all. The "campaigns" for Jeremy and Jason may carry some sway, but at the end of the day, ABC may not like either choice. The best thing going for those two is the name ID factor from the pretty good ratings Deanna got in her season. Other than that, although they are handsome and well spoken and God knows "SENSITIVE", I find them to be very mundane choices for carrying a network television show.

What would the tag lines be?!

"Who will fulfill her dream of starting a family without the hassle of pregnancy or childbirth?"

"Who will fulfill her dream of marrying -- err, make that supporting -- a law school grad with NO billable hours obligations?"

As a fan of the show... I will watch it regardless of who is chosen! I couldn't stand DeAnna during Brad's season and I still tuned in to watch.

It is not a secret that I was a Jason fan from Day 1 of DeAnna's season. That being said, and I am not being mean, just expressing my opinion, I think your "tag lines" above are a little harsh. I don't think there is anything wrong about Jason having a son... or Jeremy not having a job in law yet. Not everyone gets a job right away after graduating. I guarantee that if they did a casting call saying that Jason or Jeremy were 100% going to be the next Bachelor, they would have to beat the women away with sticks. If they clamored for Bob (), these two men are 1000 times better.

So whether or not it Jason, Jeremy or a new guy, I will watch all the same. You never know what you are going to get with a new guy... most are fine... but boy have we had some doozies! (Prince What's his name, Brad etc)

JMO though.

All good points. And of course, I'm a snark monster. That's well established.

But thinking like a network exec needing to sell ad time, what is the tag line to Bach 13 with either of those guys? I guess just the ratings from the last show?

"Who will help Jason fulfill his dream of completing his family?" Yuck. Cue violins.

"Who will heal Jeremy's broken heart?" I don't think that tried and true Bachelorette marketing angle plays as well when the genders are flipped. Bob's season was awful. (And he wasn't marketed from a broken heart angle anyway).

In any event, I vote with Ms. Froggy: fresh meat for the snark fest.

I agree, well said.

Count me in too in agreement....and his fans are really dedicated, there are two myspace fansites to support him becoming the bachelor along with a bunch of petitions. One of the myspace fansites setup a meet and greet with him in Austin, TX tomorrow night and there will hopefully be one in NYC coming soon as well.

Besides, one season's favorite, is the next season's most hated villain. Take J** who managed to go from America's Sweetheart to full on asterisk status faster than you could say "Jerry, I don't want to marry you either". Blob and Deanna are in the same category. If I liked Jason or Jeremy, I wouldn't want them to be recycled. I'm sure the show could make hate the Dalai Lama by the second episode, let alone a couple of so-so bachelors.

Exactly the reason I would not want either to be the next Bachelor. The selfish part of me would love to see them on my screen each week, but you know they would be getting trashed from day one. And then when they break the runner up's heart?? Look out!!

Re: Bachelor 13 **SPOILERS**

This doesn't really belong here, but there is no Bach 13 media thread. Since we are so used to having the Fleiss/Levinson team at the helm until the last two seasons, it seems Lisa has gone in her own direction.

Levenson signs with Warner Horizon
Producer to develop, produce new shows

By STUART

Reality producer Lisa Levenson has signed an exclusive development and production deal with Warner Horizon Television.
Levenson, who served as exec producer of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" with Mike Fleiss at his Next Entertainment production shingle, will develop and produce both scripted and reality programming for the studio's newest TV division. She also may delve into digital platforms.

Warner Horizon, formed in 2006, has been ramping up production recently. Among the shows under its banner are MTV's "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew" and an untitled reality skein from Ashton Kutcher and Tyra Banks set for ABC in the upcoming season. Also on tap is an untitled "cougar" project for TV Land and "Man vs. Cartoon" for Tru TV.

In addition to her work on the "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" franchises, which are also Warner Horizon properties, Levenson was a supervising producer on "Big Brother" and won two Daytime Emmys as a producer on "General Hospital."

Very interesting......no telling how her replacement will change things (or not) in B13.....Did she have alot of pull, or was she a puppet to Fleiss?

jlccaz, I think that's exactly what we would get. Jason seems to be a genuinely nice guy, but also quite malleable and I think after intractable Brad that's exactly what they want.

And not to be pessimistic or anything (I know how you hate that ) but last time they searched for a "fresh face", we got ex-quasi-banker-turned-fame-whore Matt. What did we learn about his career or aspirations? Absolutely nothing. At least with Alex, Aaron, Andrew, Andy, etc., we actually heard about their careers, lives and goals. I think no one of any credibility is going to do this show anymore. ABC is probably just hoping to find (1) a pretty face; with (2) no STDs and (3) no major felonies on his record.
