Re: Submit your idea to improve The Bachelor/bachelorette

I Think the show itself should be longer...just to get into the swing of things...

    25-18 - Party premiere

    18-15 - 3 group minidates

    15-13- group and individual

    13-10 - repeat

    10-8 - repeat

    8-6 -repeat

    6-4- repeat

4-3- single dates (as someone said)

    3-2- (hometown dates)

    WTA- as standard

    2-1 fantasy dates then finale

    ATFR- as standard

This may have been done, someone told me Brads season was long...but obviously it had 'that' ending.

Re: Submit your idea to improve The Bachelor/bachelorette

I agree with a lot of the suggestions.

-min age OR some sort of evidence of being willing to get married (I don't know how this would work, but maybe through interview of fam, proof of being settled etc)
-I think it would definitely be good for the bach/bachette to have a hand in the casting process, kind of like Jen did on her bachette season.
-The "contestants" should undergo compatibility tests that matches their goals, interests, beliefs etc. to that of the bachelor (if they don't do it already)
-The bach/bachette should narrow down the field from the 25 to 15 before the first RC by reading bios, watching videos and maybe third-round interviews before the show
-The contestants should have much more 1-1 time with the bachelor in realistic/casual settings (a la Byron @ the house) and less of the uber-romantic fantasy dates.
-less time in seclusion--air the show soon after it begins filming
-a whole lot less of the editing; show us more reality
-I would suggest longer intervals between the RC: for example

25-15 RC (before the 1st cocktail party)

    day 1-10 introduction cocktail party
15 move in to house (bach to live on property)
2 or 3 large group activities
    5-3 person dates
each girl gets coffee or meal w/bach alone (casual)
    15-10 RC

day 11-20 two 3 person dates
    one 2 person date
    two 1 on 1 dates
(bachelor gets to choose the 1 on 1 dates)
    10-6 RC

day 21-30 two 2 person dates
    two 1 on 1 dates
(bachelor gets to choose the 1 on 1 dates)
*at this point the girls get to watch tv etc
    6-4 RC

day 31-40 4 girls go on fantasy/weekend dates
    4-3 RC

day 41-50 girls take bach home for 2 days (w/1 day each for travel)
    3-2 RC

day 51-65 bach takes girls home w/family interviews
bach has multiple 1 on 1 dates with F2 (non-fantasy)
    FRC

    1) Leave the 22 year olds for MTV reality shows.

    2) Quit forcing them to say stuff.

    3) Quit pushing the alcohol.

    4) Let's try one without anyone in the entertainment industry or a pharmaceutiakl sales rep!

    5) Less catfights

    enough for now
I'd be happy if only these changes were made. Great ideas/improvements!

If they could it would be nice to take longer with the filming.
    1. Cut out catfights.
    2.Alchol
3.Since they basically know who interests the bach/bachette the most-make the 1st cut be down to 5 or 6 and show a persons date each episode and the episode be just the 2 of them.
    4. No drama please, just possible contections.
    5. After the 5 or 6 get their episode dates, cut it down to F3 and until FRC they date, visit parents ect.. The have a person that could council them.
    6. If at any time after F3 are know that bach/bachette falls in love F1 would get FR the next show and then we get to see dates until the show end with maybe a proposal.
But then this wouldn't be Reality T.V. then would it?

Each of us puts our own "spin" on Bach/Bachette just like he does.

Who else would love to hear all 25 of their (the bachelor's) voices?! They need a mini voice clip on the abc website under their bios.

Something like "Hi, I'm Jeremy...make sure to tune in this season." Or something personal. I'd even go for something silly, like questions lifted from a Miss America pageant.

    ...just an idea!

I think that instead of wondering which girl gets chosen the mystery should be whether anyone at all gets chosen and then which one. Given the pattern of failed relationships in this series perhaps there is too much pressure on the bachelor to pick someone. Many are angry at Brad for not picking anyone but at least he was honest and that I can respect.

Also the last episode is rushed. There should be more time spent with the family visits.

I think that the whole process needs to be longer. At least 3 months but I think 6 months is better. It's kind of hard to make a decision on which 2 people to choose when you've only known them for 6 weeks. Also, more time with the families. I also think that there needs to be more time with 1 on 1 dates like an evening making your own dinner at home rather than unrealistic fantasy dates. You need to be able to know whether you can spend a whole evening together in a normal situation.

Re: Submit your idea to improve The Bachelor/bachelorette

Strike the following phrases from the show for FOREVER:

    1. We have a connection.
    2. It's the most shocking rose ceremony EVER!
    3. He/She is someone I could fall in love with.
    4. I'm here to find a man not make friends.

That's just the start of the list. Can any of you think of other sayings common on this show? The fact that these lines are uttered EVERY dang season makes it ever so evident that the show is SCRIPTED. How about the actually let people say what they WANT to say? Like...

    1. Hell no I don't want your rose.
    2. He's cute but his breath STINKS.
    3. NO HO'S ALLOWED IN THE HOUSE! (ha!)

Re: Final Thoughts on Bachelor 12

My final thought on the show is this:

We have a presumptive Democratic nominee for the Presidential election who is of mixed race. How is it that after all these seasons of the Bachelor we have YET to see an Asian, Latino, Native American or Black man for that matter as the Bachelor. I resent Mike Fleiss and company for underestimating the American viewing audience. Surely, if people around this country can get behind a man of mixed race or a woman for President, surely this show could select a NON-WHITE man as its Bachelor!!

That's my final thought. Thank you and good nite. (ha!)

How can we know that a "non-white" man has applied to be the bachelor? We don't know that. We also don't know if any "non-white" women have applied to be the bachelorette. I suggest that if you have someone in mind who would make a terrific bachelor and that same man would agree to go on the show that you send his name, pics and bio for consideration to the casting company that they use.
