It's profound, in an idiot savant kind of way, isn't it?

Matt is showing his immaturity and "not really ready to settle down" self with these girls. His ego is soooo huge right now with all these girls throwing themselves at him, he IS like a kid in a toy store (better than candy). No way, would half of these women (and I use the term loosely) find him that attractive (especially Shayne) in normal circumstances. I liked him a lot at first, but now he is starting to remind me of Bob the Blob with all the lip locking. In fact, I am getting pretty bored with the show. I still think Andy Baldwin was the only really class act since Andrew Firestone.

I agree. Matt is starting to come off as creepy. He doesn't give the date rose out until the girl has 'earned' it with a kiss. He is leading several girls BIG time. He left Shayne standing at the car door as he ran to get in his side before he went back to open it for her. He's had to have kissed as many girls as BLOB did by now.

When the poor thing is allowed to be natural, she is fresh and appealing -- some of her interactions with the girls, her admission she's high maintenance etc.

But when she's acting, as in her over-acted reaction to the Date Box or that absurd scene at the Paris casino, it's just awful television, really awful. Why the professional television producers and editors can't see that is beyond me.
Oh, you're TOTALLY correct jlccaz: She MUST be there JUST for MATT.
I too really enjoy her when she's not acting or drunk. imo, She's the true star of the show. She's clearly edited that way and maybe it's because Matt has turned out to look so ordinary and she adds some pizzazz. There are many high quality girls on the show, but they're all in the background. This is a very unique season and maybe that is the new direction that Chris H was referring to the show getting back on track. How much fun is watching Shayne?! Too bad she's not the Bachelorette, she'd have the guys running in circles.

I think being The Bachelorette would have been a much better venue for her, I really do. With her background of being the child of celebrity parent(s) she would have been much better being the ONE instead of just being one of many.

I agree, but if she's not F1 she'd be ideally situated to be the next Bachelorette. That much more exposure and probably good for Fleiss' ratings. I'm not sure how many people actually would believe that she needed that much help finding a date, but she'd make the show fun. jmo

Maybe she was brought on board after Deanna was announced for Bachelorette. I there anything that says that Fleiss can't pay someone to appear? If she's not F1, I'd think that chances would be very strong for her to be the next Bachelorette, right after Deanna. Good for Fleiss, Good for Shayne's career exposure, and fun for us. I didn't watch last season, so I'm not attached to Deanna, but I'd sure watch Shayne.
But then, what do I know?

I guess I think she came as close to that as one can, being a female cast member on a show called The Bachelor. The Others were the Many, and she was the One.

But, thankfully, she seems to be there to purely to play LA Sex Kitten to the Bachelor God, and seems fun and great and genuine (so far) to the other girls. I did love that bit between her and Amy in the Departed

Another relief, compared to my old expectations, is that Shayne hasn't been over the top on the Girls Gone Wild stuff (though tanning machine came darn close). That was my first and worst concern when I saw her ShayneAmber Myspace many moons ago, and further noted that Amber indeed is the girlfriend of Joe Francis, producer of Girls Gone Wild.

That stuff may have gone on (there is that body shot scene in the previews) but it hasn't been a major theme so far.

My sentiments exactly. I didn't watch the Andrew Firestone season and am really glad to know he was a good guy. I did watch Andy Baldwin, and he really restored my interest in the show, and I think he was a class act in every respect.

I thought Matt actually interacts better with the girls than Brad from last season... Like he's good in convos and getting to know these girls and not the shy type Brad was IMO. I actually find his convos intellectual and interesting *I know* and yet his season looked BORING to me .

Maybe it's just that I don't see a connection with anyone (yet) ??
