Just to round out my overall snarky mood today, you will notice that Matt appears to have it in his contract (contrary to Andy B or Brad W) that his bare torso will not be shown on camera from the front, or else the camera crew/editors/producers made that decision on their own.

Maybe he is a bit "puffy" or maybe he has some awesome huge tattoo splayed across his chest! (just kidding)

The girls are shown, but if you make a study of this in screencaps you will see what I mean, except for that shot of him jumping from the water trampoline filmed at a distance of about a mile away!

I noticed that, too. And what I did see of his chest last night didn't look that cut for a 27-year-old hottie. I was actually surprised. Not that a good body is everything, but hey, if you're going to parade women around in itty bitty bikinis, fair is fair...

I think Matt is one of those guys who looks best in a suit. And he does look nice in a suit!

His wit more than makes up for his lack of a Calvin Klein model's body...I will say that I think I'm picking on his body now 'cause he was kind of skeevy last night. All that kissing...ewwwwwwww!

"Eager to please" was an understatement!

If The Bachelor goes on the show wiling to please the 15 girls left after the first night (each of whom is desperate to establish some bond that comforts them that they are not about to be sent home), AND is eager to please his New Best Friends the producers, he will need a lot of chapstick indeed.

Somewhere in all that, you need to dig down, and find your Inner Man, and Just Say No. Could be the best thing that ever happened ... for Matt's next girlfriend!!

And P.S., ITA that all those "I missed you's" are really hard to take as a viewer who already knows which 2 make it to the end. Very insincere, even if he meant it at the time...which I doubt he did.

nocalgal. He needs to get back on track. He's begun to look too much like a kid in a candy store with ADHD, stuffing candy into his pockets. I was prepared to like him and was impressed by his interviews, but not so much at all now. Unless he really redeems himself I wouldn't wish him on any favorite girl. jmo

I also agree about his physique not being exactly camera ready. I'm just not sure he's all that great of a prize. I can't believe that Shayne is really all crazy about him, I just don't see him as her type at all. She's only 22 and in the land of great bodies his doesn't measure up. jmo. He can redeem himself as a nice guy, but not the super prize. Of course, at the end of the day the Bachelors never really are all that super special imo.

Great post!! To add to that, I don't think Shayne would ever give a guy like Matt a second look if he was not the bachelor. If Shayne is F1, once the cameras are turned off and all the hoopla dies down I am sure she will lose interest in him very quickly.

I agree with you, girlsmom. I dont for a minute think Shayne is crazy about him...not in the romantic/looking for a mate kind of way. She is exposed to many many people in her career, Im sure..and could have her pick.

Are you are saying that you don't find her INSTANT and REPEATED delivery of the line "I'm here for YOU, Matt" to be credible.

When the poor thing is allowed to be natural, she is fresh and appealing -- some of her interactions with the girls, her admission she's high maintenance etc.

But when she's acting, as in her over-acted reaction to the Date Box or that absurd scene at the Paris casino, it's just awful television, really awful. Why the professional television producers and editors can't see that is beyond me.

Great post!! I agree!! She also had that great line on the winery date where she told him "I am here for YOU and I don't even know YOU".

Do you have any theories on why? Are they just stuck with lots of minutes of Shayne being cringe-worthy so they pick the best they can? Or do they so underestimate their audience that they dont care?
