Even though I find it hard to be objective about these two, in my best imitation of objectivity, that particular sentence sounds really odd for two people who are head over heels in love. I can totally understand them living seperately, but that sounds more like he wants his "own life" as a opposed to a life "with" someone. It's just downright strange. There doesn't seem to be any "inclusiveness".

Odd.

Or not.

Just fyi -

Chris was co-hosting the other night with one of the Intouch staff on Hollywood 411 and he was lightly chiding her about Intouch's slant on why Matt got his own apartment.

Chris said he had just talked to Matt that morning... Matt and Shane were fine and that Matt getting his own place was in their plans all along.

I can completely understand him trying to develop his own circle... you need to have your own interests and friends apart from your couple friends, it helps to keep a relationship strong... my parents are celebrating 43 years of marriage this year, both of them have friends and interests that the other is not invovled in, my grandparents were married almost 55 years, and they still had interests and people that they spent time with that the other person did not, gramps said that it was as important to have a seperate identity in addition to being part of a pair
In Matt's case he has relocated to LA, currently all the people he is around are people he met through Shayne, they are her friends, her family, and it has to be hard, so finding his place has to be imprtant to keep the relationship going

You know, I totally understand that, and don't disagree. The thing that I find odd is that it feels "too soon" to be "needing" it. I guess I would have expected the first six months to be kind of "Newlyweddish", that they would want to spend every waking minute together, not "create their seperate lives" and "own circle of friends". I think it's a pre-emptive strike myself, for when they begin being photogged "out" seperately.

But anyway.... if that's the case, it's nothing I didn't expect.

/back to my corner...

I think he is just following the advice from his new buddy and master life coach extraordinaire Dr. Andy Baldwin.

I have no doubt whatsoever that they always planned for Matt to find his own place and start his own separate life once he was in LA.

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread

I have this great visual of CITIBANK BOSS in London, holding his hand over a Black Aeron chair, saying "SORRY, THIS SEAT'S SAVED" every day for 7 months.

It's a scene right out of the Office ... BBC version, of course!

Well, I certainly hope that CITIBANK is able to get all of their business done while their Global Financier is away on sabbatical.

Article about Noelle and her Dad in their local paper Hi Noelle

Doling out fatherly advice
Loveland dad’s lessons in honesty, integrity help daughter navigate world of reality TV

By Catherine Trumbo
Loveland Connection

Larry Drake tried to teach his daughters — Rachel, Elicia and Noelle — many things when they were growing up.

Recently, those fatherly lessons were put in the spotlight on national TV.

When Drake's youngest daughter, Noelle, was named one of the 25 bachelorettes on "The Bachelor: London Calling," Drake told his daughter to be herself.

"She handled herself well. She did nothing to be ashamed of. We were proud of her for that," Drake said Wednesday during an interview at his Loveland office. "A lot of people have told me she was their favorite because she was real, honest, down to earth and not buying into the Hollywood thing."

As Father’s Day draws near, Larry Drake looks back on his family’s involvement with the reality TV show with pride.

During filming, when Noelle brought the Bachelor, Matt Grant, home to Loveland to meet her family, Larry Drake said his wife and daughters did not change in the face of camera crews.

"We were ourselves. We didn't put on any airs. We were just being who we are," he said. "It's done for Hollywood. That's what I tell her. She (Noelle) says 'I don't know what I have to offer anybody as far as stories.' I tell her the story you've got is you can show how you can be a good ex-ample and stay true to yourself in Hollywood, which is a rarity."

Noelle said there are many things her father taught her growing up, but the one that sticks out in her mind is to "not be afraid to explore who I am."

A trait Noelle sees in her father that she would like to see in other people is integrity.

"Honesty and integrity. He's always been that way. I've never even heard him tell a white lie," she said.

A family with a strong Christian foundation, Drake said his three daughters have navigated the craziness of the world and remained true to who they are.

"It's really hard for young people. There's a lot of craziness in the world to deal with. The good news is that our family is a strong Chris-tian family. It's support. It's a daily part of your life," he said.

Although Drake said he did not see anything special about himself and how he raised his daugh-ters, he did offer some advice to other fathers.

First, he said to listen to your children because "we often don't hear our kids."
The next piece of the advice he found in the Bible.

"The Bible says not to exasperate your kids. That's an interesting term, but I think it's so true. You really can turn your kid against you. You're better off gently guiding and advising rather than dictating. It's much better results," Drake said. "Each kid has their own personality. A little bit of it is environment, but I think most of it is inherent. You learn to let them be who they are, not who you want them to be."
