rdygo5! I went through a number of the threads, and I'm very familar with rileymeboy, but I don't recall that post, can you or someone else point me to it? I searched her posts and I really can't find it. I have no doubt that you both were at the same party and received some inside information. To be clear, there were many "insider" posts during the course of the season, many from people who claimed to be in the know in one way or another. Were they all? I don't know and probably won't ever know. I do know that seeds of doubt were sewn before the beginning of the season and as the season progressed. I used the term "camp" in response to jlccaz's post about the F1 "camp". Point being that there were other's here with different motivations for posting. I don't think it's unreasonable to think in that manner. I'm not placing you in a "camp" anymore than I'm placing myself in a "camp". In no way am I discrediting your opinion, and like I said this place is great because we can share our opinions. It is our own choice to believe what we want to believe. You may believe one thing and I may believe another. That doesn't make either of us better than the other, just makes for different opinions. Anyone can post whatever they want on a message board, it doesn't always make it true. I could post on here that I am Matt Grant and maybe some of you would believe me. Like I said, there are many posters on this board that I respect, rileymeboy included, but yes I may not believe every poster that comes on with "inside" info. I guess time will tell, right? | |

| Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread Love: Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose : But in the world of TV ratings, it's a toss of the dice MARILYN McMAHON, NEWS-PRESS STAFF WRITER A radiant Chelsea Wanstrath accepted a red rose from Matt Grant at each weekly ceremony until the last one. May 19, 2008 7:01 AM How does it feel to get to the final rose ceremony on the popular television series "The Bachelor" only to find out the man of your dreams has chosen your rival? Then, while the cameras zoom in for close-ups, you have to deal with the rejection while millions of viewers look on. Chelsea Renee Wanstrath of Santa Barbara had to endure the trauma when Matt Grant, the attractive investment adviser from London, opted to propose to Shayne Lamas, an actress from Malibu, during the finale, which was taped six weeks ago but was shown on ABC one week ago today. "I was shocked, surprised, confused and saddened, but I have no regrets. He wasn't for me obviously," Ms. Wanstrath told the News-Press during a phone interview from her home near the Mesa. "My biggest concern before the ceremony was not whether I would get the rose, but whether he would propose." A small consolation was that she got to keep the lovely white gown that she was wearing. It was given to her by the producers, but all the other evening gowns worn by the women during the rose ceremonies were their own. If Mr. Grant had asked her to marry him, how would the 24-year-old feel about moving to London? "We had discussed that, and I told him I would be willing to live there for a period of time, but the ocean was very much a part of my life. He understood that," said Ms. Wanstrath, who grew up in Durango, Colo., but has lived in California since her graduation from high school at the age of 17. She came here to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she majored in communication studies and earned her bachelor's degree in 2005. A job in pharmaceutical sales for GlaxoSmithCline brought her to Santa Barbara in 2006. "It was a great job. I visited about 10 doctors a day informing them about new products. I had to give it up when I was chosen for the show," said Ms. Wanstrath. "Now I guess you could say I'm in transition. I would like to do medical device sales, which would be more challenging." The decision to try out for "The Bachelor" was her mother's idea. "Mom is a big fan of the show. When she suggested it, I realized that I had a great career, I was single, and there was no better time in my life to try something like this," said Ms. Wanstrath, adding that she has had three serious relationships -- "two of which almost ended in marriage." After filling out an application online and sending photos and a videotape last fall, she was asked to meet with the show's producers in Los Angeles. In late December, Ms. Wanstrath received a phone call informing her she would be one of 25 women vying for the London bachelor's affection. "I was excited because I had loved everyone I had met during the selection process," she said. "They were all great. I didn't think there would be any red flags in my background." Filming began in late January at a mansion near Malibu, and one of the biggest surprises for Ms. Wanstrath was how much she enjoyed living with 24 other women. "It was a wonderful experience. We had so much fun together. Yes, there were some rough times. With 25 women, there is bound to be some controversy, but we left with no hard feelings. We're all different people," she said. Even though there were some serious differences with Marshana, the dramatic fashion designer from Brooklyn, Ms. Wanstrath gave her a hug and wished her well when she left the show. Ms. Lamas she found "very different, not someone I would hang out with." During the series, Ms. Wanstrath became friends with Amanda, an account executive from Florida; Noelle, a photographer from Colorado; Holly, a children's book author from Ohio; and Kelly, a medical sales representative from San Diego. "Amanda and I really hit it off. In fact, she is coming to visit me next month," she said. Another surprise for Ms. Wanstrath, who has an older brother, Jason, living in Hawaii, was that she didn't expect to truly fall for Mr. Grant. The first hint of the intensity of her feelings came when she took him to Durango to meet her parents -- Addi, her mother, and Kerry, her father. "Matt was very comfortable. He seemed like part of the family. My father had been very skeptical about my appearance on the show. When I saw how much he liked Matt, I thought, 'He could be part of my family,' " Despite the fact that there will be no happily every after with Mr. Grant, Ms. Wanstrath had nothing but kind words for him. "Matt is a wonderful man with a lot of wonderful qualities. There is no bitter taste in my mouth," she said. "I wish him the best." As for his future with Ms. Lamas, Ms. Wanstrath said, "Marriage is a huge commitment. I hope they take time to get to know each other in a realistic setting." When asked how long it took for her to recover from the rejection, Ms. Wanstrath said that "it didn't take long because I didn't have Matt in my life before the show, so when I went home, it was life as usual. In fact, I'm back to dating again." Would she consider doing ABC's "The Bachelorette"? "It would depend on where I was in my life." Santa Barbara News-Press |
