WOW! I didn't know that. I wonder if she knew what the sign she was giving meant.

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread

After reading Chelsea's lastest interview, I can say now that I am convinced that the rumors started from them. There was another actress on this season, but they pointed out Shayne, because in their minds Chelsea was denied the win, but I truly believe that if Shayne wouldn't have been on this season that Robin probably would have won his heart.....If she had already decided that Matt wasn't the man for her and it soften her heart break, Why the rant in the limo?

I agree. Also, Chelsea's mom kept referring it to a "competition", and said that Shayne had an advantage because she had "experience in front of the camera." Ok, exactly how would camera experience cause Matt to fall in love with Shayne over the other girls? I'm not sure I understand that logic.

I also could have told Chelsea in the very beginning of her "journey" that Matt was not the athletic type, and thus saved her lots of trouble and heartache. What I don't understand is how she could not see this herself when she was the one actually touching him (he always was a bit "pudgy" in my eyes! )

I think it says VOLUMES about both girls and their true values when you consider their comments about each other since the show ended. Shayne has been nothing but gracious towards Chelsea -- and considering Chelsea's outburst to Matt about her, she didn't have to be. Her thoughtful and kind comments about Chelsea ring true to the way Matt described Shayne during the show -- warm, loving and KIND.

I think Shayne has made some decisions that may not have been wise, but I have a feeling that she is the type that trusts people and tries to see the good in everyone (e.g. Mr. Girls Gone Wild.) She's just 22, and I think and hope she'll learn that not everybody is what she hopes they will be. However, I have YET to hear her utter an unkind word about ANYONE -- whether on the show or off.

Can't say the same for Chelsea, sorry to say. Also, if she is so adamant against a show business career, why take a job in TV broadcasting?

I think Matt made the right decision, and I hope their relationship stays on track and brings them both a lifetime of happiness.

ITA, I posted awhile back that once Matt decided that he wanted Shayne, that meant that Robin had to go.

I probably shouldn't have said she seems "off", but in her post show interviews they don't tell a cohesive story. They are all over the place. Since no one has any problem discussing inconsitencies in Matt's, Shayne's or Matt and Shayne's interviews, this one is also up for discussion. Yes, they are all bound by a confidentiality contract. Maybe this accounts for some of the inconsistencies.

I know what goes in on those limos to get the women to cry and I hate it. It's awful. I still don't get though out of everything on the show, that is what she feels ashamed of? She's ashamed because some heartless people drudged up her innermost feelings and got her to shed a tear? Does she never cry? During the entire season I spoke up in Chelsea's defense, but maybe some of what the posters were saying was true. I really don't know.

The logic that you are using about the limo leads me to wonder if we should give any creedence at all to what she said in the limo, seeing as how the pyschologists and producers are in there trying to elicit as juicy of an exit as possible? Also, IMO comparing the limo to John McCain's POW experience is at best a stretch.
This type of "subtle but high-pressured" questioning technique is often employed by the military with a high degree of success in eliciting sensitive information from captured "enemy combatants". If effectively applied, the info obtained through this method is accurate because the "captive" would have been sufficiently broken down and lost all the wherewithall to defend himself (herself) through fabrications. I believe John McCain has alluded in his book that one of shis biggest fear during his captivity was the possibility of his being "broken" and told his captors all the sensitive info he knew at the time.

As far as cohesiveness of the article is concerned, I walk away with two major points from her interview. The first point is that she has come to the realization that Matt and she would not have been a good match and agreed that he has made the right call. The second point is her disappointments with the show. Her first disappointment is her perception of an "unleveled playing field" which I interpreted as more of an indictment of the producers than a personal attack on Shayne. The second is her being "broken" by her questioners during the "limo ride from hell." Public composure seems to be a big thing for her, just like a Hilary Clinton or a Margaret Thatcher.

I find her straightforwardness quite suitable in sportcasting in the same mode as Howard Cosell. Glad that she has found her calling instead of what would have been a disastrous relationship.

I'm lost! Does it really mean something different in the UK?

Thanks for responding, scoobie, while I have a hard time comparing John McCain's captivity and Chelsea's captivity, I get what you mean about being "broken". These producers don't seem to stop until they acheive just that.

To me, Chelsea's comments clearly were directed at Matt for the most part. Some underlying insults of Shayne as well, but the more I think about it the more it just makes me sad for her. She still seems to be holding on to a fair amount of negativity and while she has positives to focus on, like friendships, family, etc, she just oozes bitterness. I really don't recall a F2 ever being as outright negative as it seems like she is, based on this article. I hope she does move on, find a man who is athletic and who is her lobster.

Oh and regarding her new job, which is awesome, I read this blog today that I found kind of funny. It's from a beach volleyball blog site.

FatSpike Beach Volleyball Blog - FatSpike Beach Volleyball Blog

Sounds like the writer took away the same feelings from the article that some here have.

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread

I watch the AVP (well, whenever I'm flipping channels and see that it's on) and...does she know anything about volleyball? All the announcers I've ever heard know what they're talking about.
