And good for her for snagging the Sports telecasting gig.

I loved that the editors cared enough and respected her enough to air a flavor of what she really thought in the exit video available at abc.com.

They seat belt those girls into the limo with psychologists and others for hours if necessary to extract the tears. Feeling badly about tears shed in that setting are like John McCain feeling guilty that the North Vietnamese eventually extracted a confession out of him. It means nothing, literally nothing, to have given in under the pressure and circumstances of that Limo Ride from Hell.

Blog, Chelsea, Blog.

jlccaz, do you have first hand information from Chelsea? It sounds like maybe you might....I certainly didn't mean to offend.

I probably shouldn't have said she seems "off", but in her post show interviews they don't tell a cohesive story. They are all over the place. Since no one has any problem discussing inconsitencies in Matt's, Shayne's or Matt and Shayne's interviews, this one is also up for discussion. Yes, they are all bound by a confidentiality contract. Maybe this accounts for some of the inconsistencies.

I know what goes in on those limos to get the women to cry and I hate it. It's awful. I still don't get though out of everything on the show, that is what she feels ashamed of? She's ashamed because some heartless people drudged up her innermost feelings and got her to shed a tear? Does she never cry? During the entire season I spoke up in Chelsea's defense, but maybe some of what the posters were saying was true. I really don't know.

The logic that you are using about the limo leads me to wonder if we should give any creedence at all to what she said in the limo, seeing as how the pyschologists and producers are in there trying to elicit as juicy of an exit as possible? Also, IMO comparing the limo to John McCain's POW experience is at best a stretch.

Yet IMO it doesn't seem as big a stretch as comparing GGW with National Geographic and Life..

Of course it's a stretch to compare anything about this retarded show to Sen McCain (who was quite funny on SNL last night, as an aside). I was just grasping inartfully for a metaphor for Coerced Statements on a dreary Sunday in May.

We share this: I hate what they do to extract tears and emotion from the girls throughout the filming. But (with apologies for the repetition, as I have probably posted this at least 20 times in the last year), the girls all bounce back JUST FINE, every one to a tee. Deanna is bobbing around in her Tub of Butter as we speak. And the "cool" girls (the ones deemed such by the producers), like Amanda and Chelsea, get picked up as post-show friends by the same producer-captors, and all seems to be forgiven fairly quickly and completely.

The media attention on them (and Matt/Shayne) will evaporate by end of the week I suspect, and Chelsea won't have to bite her tongue so hard.

In short, only Matt has some explaining to do to himself for the words he spoke and the actions he took. So, let him bask in his own private hell, clubbing with Shayne by night, walking the little doggie and shopping by day. The mind numbs.

How much more fulfillment could Matt possibly ask for in life?

I see Matt as an equal to Kathy Griffin's husband on her show.. Much like a personal assistant and go fetch boy.. and of course no higher than the D list for either of them..

Re: Bachelor 12 Media Thread

It's wierd, I saw on an online poll whether Matt/Shayne has what it takes to make it and I was surprise at the response, because I read at the FORT, 73% said YES and only 27% said NO......I work in an office that was all Amanda fans, but every last one of the women were gushing over the proposal and the season I am glad that I am not in the minority of feeling this season of the Bachelor was a really satisfying one to me....

The facts is, she was asked to give the peace sign by the photographer. I'll have to check on the English version of that.

What I wouldn't give to look like such a mess.

Durangoan learns ‘reality’ of 2nd place
Wanstrath lost to actor’s daughter on 'The Bachelor: London Calling'

By Ted Holteen | Herald Staff Writer

While America's reality-show addicted audiences spent the week debating London financier Matt Grant's choice of a bride, Durango native Chelsea Wanstrath was just happy her ordeal was over.

Chelsea Wanstrath walks hand-in-hand on the beach in Barbados with "The Bachelor" Matt Grant. Wanstrath, a 2001 Durango High School graduate, was the last contestant eliminated from the ABC-TV reality series Monday."I think he made the right decision with Shayne (Lamas)," said Wanstrath, a 2001 Durango High School graduate. She lost to the daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas on the final episode of ABC-TV's "The Bachelor: London Calling" on May 12.

"I think they're a better match," she said.

Wanstrath described the last five months of her life as "a crazy experience." Since she was chosen for the show in January, Wanstrath, her family and friends lived under a network- imposed gag order not to disclose the results of the program, which wrapped up taping in early March.

The show pits 25 women against one another to win a marriage proposal from the bachelor. Every episode, Grant awarded roses to some but dismissed one or more women until only Wanstrath and Lamas remained.

During the six-weeks of filming, Wanstrath lost her job as a top pharmaceutical representative in Santa Barbara, Calif., and traveled from Malibu, Calif., to Las Vegas, Sun Valley Idaho, Barbados, London and back to Barbados.

"I came back dumped, my company car was gone, my computer was gone - they repo'd everything. But I can laugh at things now that before might've bothered me a lot more," she said.

Despite her second-place finish, Wanstrath said she is most ashamed that she cried after Grant broke the bad news to her and sent her home.

She had been privately amused by the reaction of many of the women who had been rejected, especially those who had only been around for a week or two before they were booted.

"I said to myself, 'What the hell were you guys crying about?' I mean I kind of get it, but I'm just not that girl. Some of the girls also kept their roses (given to the women who advance to the next episode), and I don't get that, either. What do I want with a dried-out old rose?" she said.

The rejection was also softened by the fact that Wanstrath had already decided that Grant wasn't the man for her.

"When I first saw him I said, 'Yeah, he's tall and attractive, but if I had 25 men in front of me to pick from, I can't say I'd pick him,'" she said.

"But my first to last impression of him did change over the show, and he's a really nice guy. I just think I'm a bit too tomboyish for him. After watching the show, he's definitely not my type and not the man I thought he was. He's not athletically inclined, and I wouldn't want somebody to slow me down. When Shayne said she likes to shop, he thought that was cute. I didn't."

Lamas' appearance on the show had Wanstrath and her fellow contestants shaking their heads. Many of the women on the show thought Lamas, who is a professional actress, held an unfair advantage because of her experience in front of a camera, Wanstrath said.

For Wanstrath's mother, Addi, Lamas' presence also was a disappointment.

"When she first did this and we heard there was going to be an actress on the show, we were suspicious of the whole thing - all these girls competing against a professional," Addi Wanstrath said.

"Our suspicions turned out to be true. But I want to tell you how proud we are of our daughter - she's not a loser, she's a winner, and she never compromised herself."

Wanstrath said that despite several offers, she has no plans to pursue an acting career.

"I'm not an actress, I don't want to pretend to be one, and you're not going to see me on the next 'Rock of Love' either," she said, answering an inquiry about her reality-TV future.

But until she decides whether she will resume her pre-TV career - she's still a bit bitter over her abrupt dismissal - Wanstrath will remain in front of the camera.

She will host Fox Sports Net's telecasts of the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball tour beginning in early June.
Well good for her...now if we can just get her to look into the camera.

Thanks for the pictures. I don't know why, but it kind of tickled me that she's wearing white shoes with her black outfit after she wore them so often to the rose ceremonies.

They seem very in sync in their interviews and they seem happy. I do wonder at the fall out of the GGW photoshoot, but not enough to search around for those interviews.

I liked Chelsea on the show, for the most part, but she comes across as bitter in these interviews. I can't say that I blame her, but bringing up Shayne's acting career in the article (assuming she did, or her mom did, and it wasn't responsive to a question by the reporter) seems a bit of sour grapes to me. Especially after the finale, and Chelsea's limo interview comments left me feeling it was more about winning than anything else. If, after watching the show, she realized he's not the man she thought he was or wouldn't have picked him in real life, why does it matter whether Shayne's an actress, or not?

If that's Chelsea biting her tongue, it would be a very wild ride to read her thoughts without self-censoring..

I dunno, I really have taken a rather hands-off approach to posting about this season, mostly because Matt put me off with all of the smooching and I wasn't "into" Matt and Shayne, and I am far from a defender of Shayne. However, IF Shayne really was set up all along to be the winner, and went along with it, then why does it really matter at the end of the day? As they say, wouldn't they kind of "deserve each other"? They seem happy together, and that's saying quite a bit after going through this crazy show.
